This new pistol has all the features you expect to find on what is, in
our opinion, the most advanced semi-auto pistol in the world. It is
derived from the successful "Taurus OSS" pistol we designed for the U.S.
Armed Forces, but adds an external hammer that has been requested by so
many of our valued customers.
"STRIKE TWO" CAPABILITY - The Taurus 800 Series is now ready with
"Strike Two" capability. If you have had a hard primer and the gun
misfires, the 800 Series senses this and automatically gives you instant
"Strike Two" capability by resetting the trigger for automatic double
action re-strike. No need to do anything else, simply pull the trigger.
Research indicates a 93% or better chance the round will fire on
re-strike. When it fires, the 800 will automatically revert to single
action by itself. If it falls on a dead primer, simply manually
recharge and keep going.

Suitable for the price when I got it was not very popular. Today, I see that Taurus (this is based on reviews of other platforms) has stepped up its quality. The problem is that ammo is way too expensive and limited availability. If you can find one and you like this caliber and do not mind ammo prices, grab one.

I purchased this gun seven years ago. I have shot hundreds of rounds through it since. It has been a straight shooter and pretty reliable. The most failures I have experienced were when using inexpensive steel-cased ammo. As is the case with many guns, it seems to cycle brass more efficiently.

Accurate. Big boom. It came with an issue on the inside, something was cracked, i don't recall, its been a while since i have had it, but i had to ship it back to taurus to fix. That was expensive. But ever since it feeds fine now. love the gun, just wish the grips weren't those hard plastic feel. Something overmolded to make it a little softer. Still though the additional sizes for the grips is nice.The features are amazing. its like an expensive gun with all the bells and whistles with a different name. it has been hard to find magazines for this. Buds is always great as usual. sometimes i'd rather shop online with them than go to the local gunshop.

Nice gun and well made. I was a little disappointed that it didn't come with the cleaning brush like my PT111 did. Shoots accurate. no FTF or FTE although I did have some FTE with the Cheap Walmart Perfecta 45 target. But all other ammo was fine. Too bad they stopped making these. I'm glad Buds had a few left for me to get one.

Wow! This .45 Cal is a winner and keeper. Taurus is so much better than years ago. This .45 performs at the same rate or better than it's sister in the short barrel .45. Capacity is excellent for concealed and at a great price from Buds. Outstanding! In God We Trust!!

Very happy with my purchase. I just love taking the Taurus 45 ACP to the range. 200 rounds have been fired no malfunctions or whatever it worked flawlessly . I'm definitely going to buy this model in the 40 cal version too.

Big fan of Buds and there amazing prices. Bought this pistol because of the cheap price and to add another pistol to the collection. I am normally a 1911 guy. I had heard mixed reviews about Taurus but decided to try it anyway. Pistol made it through 50 rounds before safety began to shear itself off. When the safety was engaged the pistol would fire and when not engaged would not fire. Needless to say I decided to get rid of it. I will definitely continue to use Buds for purchases!!
