What's unique about this gun that I'm missing that makes it cost twice the price of other Hi-Points?

I just asked the online chat the same question. They are sending it to their marketing dept. to check on it . I too was surprised by the roughly $140 price jump overnight . That's more than the carbine in that caliber. Don't think they'll be selling a lot of them at that price.

Hi Dale, Buds uses an automatic inventory price update engine that runs every 20mins. Prices are tied directly to stock levels and will change as stock numbers change. The .40 gas a perfect grip, and if/when u find ur self in a life or death situation. For the inexperienced ur going to instantly become overwhelmed with adrenaline and the weight and grip of the .40 will help u ease ur weapon hand on target and it being all steel the weight actually helps keep u steady allowing u to have a nice smooth trigger pull help preventing u from jerking on it. The price cannot be beat, it’s all American company owned by a veteran u can’t ask for anything more. I’ll will always have my hi-point.

Like the others have said, it’s heavy and ugly but that aside it really is a great weapon. It shoots well and for the price you can’t beat it. Don’t misunderstand, it’s not my Sig Sauer P320 by any means, but if you want a inexpensive, well made weapon this is it. My friends all laughed when we got to the range and I pulled this weapon out of the box but after putting around 500 rounds through it that day they all felt differently when we left. Same complaint that it’s heavy and ugly but they all agreed for the cost and the way it shoots you can’t go wrong. Would definitely buy again.

She is ugly but very reliable. Own the Hi Point C9, JCP and JHP. Only one that has ever given me an issue is the 9 because I suspect the 9 just isn't powerful enough to cycle the slide. Anyways, credit where credit is due. Hi Point really made a reliable firearm with the 40 and after many many many rounds no issues. It's also fun to take to the range. Out of all of my firearms with all of them costing many times more than this gun, the Hi Point is still the one people come over to watch and ask to try out. It's reputation proceeds it.

Once again Buds Rocks. I was a little hesitant on this purchase just because of the price. Once I received this pistol and fired it I was blown away at the accuracy and feel. If you want to save money and have extra left over to buy ammo this is the one. It's amazing the local shops here were bashing this gun maker a few years ago but now they are selling these.

I really don't know why Hi Point has a bad reputation. I have had no problems with this gun. It's a little heavy but the weight also cuts down on the recoil. For the money, I think it is an excellent deal.
