Very smooth revolver and fitment of parts looks very good. Finish is dissapointing. Some milky areas on the barrel and the area around the Made in USA stamp is not blued and looks bad. Will be working with Buds and Smith and Wesson to correct and will update review once this has been addressed.

The S&W model 27-9 is a tack driver! Very accurate, nice fit and finish, blueing and the grips are amazing, good trigger pull, excellent target sights. Smith and Wesson really outdid themselves here. I like this gun even more than the new production Colt Pythons iIve shot. 10/10 would recommend for anyone interested in revolver target shooting.

Excellent revolver! Well built as expected and the bluing is superb. About 100 rounds so far of 38SP and 357 with no issues. With 38SP, recoil is almost like shooting a .22LR.

What can I say. I have a smith and Wesson Model 29 and love it. So assuming when I get the Model 27 to the range it will perform as well. I am a classic fan.

Bought this as kind of a collector piece and I am glad I did. I went back and forth on it a little while but decided to take the plunge. In the world of the new python S and W fought back hard with this one. The gun is absolutely gorgeous. You obviously wouldn't carry this thing unless you are Dirty Harry (and the similarity was a big draw I must confess) but it is a great range gun and the ammo wont break the bank especially shooting 38. Overall the gun is finished beautifully. Mine arrived in perfect condition. The bluing is deep and top notch and the little details set it apart. Serrated back strap and trigger, fine checkered top of the frame and the barrel rib. Checkered hammer as well. The double action is a bit stiff to be expected but single action is butter smooth. This will be an heirloom piece for sure.

This is an excellent shooting weapon. It is well balance, functions perfectly and has nice sites. I bought this gun to replace a 686 and have never been sorry. I have shot hundreds of rounds through the gun and it is one of my favorites to shoot

I got this revolver because, I have a thing for blued steel and wheel guns. I wanted a 357 Magnum. A S&W 357 Magnum. One that looked like my Model 29 44 Mag. As with this revolver you get no presentation case like the 44 Mag. The quality is amazing and the fit and finish are up to par with any other S&W I own. Feels great and shoots great. Glad I added this one to the collection. If you are a S&W fan and like classic things, then this revolver is for you.

Just took it out this past weekend. Shot 100 rounds of mixed hand loads through it. this gun preformed very admirably. I must say that the trigger in double and single action is excellent. The guns fit and finish is the best of my collection at this point.
I've held and fired many revolvers and this one had a distinct feeling. While being a new production it indeed felt like an old friend, like I finally meeting a celebrity I've seen in so many films and on so many TV shows. There is a rather ridiculous intangible and honestly not functional element to this firearm. I love it.
If I had to mark something against this revolver it would be the darn frame safety that smith needlessly puts on all their revolvers now. This disqualifies any smith from being anything more than a range toy. :( God willing I will one day be able to upgrade to a production of this model that doesn't have that.
