  Robert, yes this should be good to go as it doesn't have a flash suppressor/hider and the magazines are legal at least for the time being.

• Q: what is the series of Mini 14 Model 5817 being sold as of Dec 2018. Are those 582, 583? 584? Anybody purchased one in 2018 and can share prefix? Buds Chat service had no clue.
  Trying to find out if those are new guns or "new-old stock with pencil barrels)
  Also, I understand that only difference between model 5817 and 5805 is detachable magazine capacity. Is it correct?

  the ranch guns are 583 series S/Ns the only difference in the guns are the magazines

• Q: Would it be possible to find out or get a picture of the receiver stamping on this 5817 model. I was told at Ruger the later models were stamped with the 5.58 NATO stamp. Also, at what point before the purchase could I get a serial number to check the facts on the gun purchase.

  It would be awesome to get a serial number before but they handle so many items that they are unable to do so (you can contact them but I do not believe they can accommodate). This is 5.56 NATO stamped model.
