Very accurate rifle. I'm not sure about the safety but well worth the money. I have used mine to take 3 deer since I purchased it one at 10 yards, one at 30 yards, and one at 105 yards. All were one shot each.

This is my second lever action rifle from Rossi. I also have a 357 Rossi lever action case hardened 24 inch octagon barrel and I love it, which is why I decided to get one in 44 magnum. As for the 44 magnum Rossi I love it also. The gun is extremely accurate and the action is very smooth, actually smoother than my 357. It does have quite a recoil kick to it, considerably more than with the 357 but then again it is a 44 magnum rifle. The stainless finish, which I chose to distinguish it from my 357, is very nicely done and compliments the wood very well. I highly recommend it, but I also recommend that if you do get one don't go disassembling it right off the bat, especially if you are not familiar with the internals of a model 1892 lever action rifle. It's ready to go right out of the box. If the action is stiff out of the box simply add a little oil and work the action a couple of hundred times to loosen it up before you fire it. Keep it lubed and clean and you'll enjoy it for many years.

This gun was awesome today again, I was hitting 2 liter coke bottles from 100 yards with Walmart Winchester 44 mag loads using rifle sites. This gun was amazingly accurate and consistent. Look out Deer, this is my year! Im coming for you! Your going to taste great on my grill next summer!

Buds had great service as usual. I know Henry's Rifles, and this gun is not on par with that! But, for the money and value, this gun is absolutely beautiful. Fit and finish was tight, and shoots like a dream. Its dead on with rifle sights and 75 yards. Great quality and bang for the buck! Man, I cant say enough, makes me feel like a kid all over again! The feeder tube is held in place by a single set screw. After firing about 5 rouinds, the set screw jumped out of the small hole it sets in. I can't get the feeder tube to stay in place. Other than that issue, this gun is smooth and shoots very well.
