Have to give it five stars considering the cost. Sure it's not a Henry or Marlin, but didn't pay for one of those either. Read all of the horror stories about poor fit, ejector problems, etc and even considered not purchasing because of them. Mine arrived in great shape, ejects fine and action works smoothly. Stock is nice wood, but not the perfect finish, but won't take much to fix that. I am' very pleased with what I got for the bucks with this rifle. Of course, I got the best price and service from Bud's too.

Over all I like the Rossi in 44 mag, which is a copy of the 1892 winchester. The only flaw in the rifle is the wood to metal fit where the stock and receiver meet. On the right side the wood on the stock is slightly high and is not level with the metal. This is where the metal tang screws to the wooden stock. Over all the action is not as smooth as I had hoped it would be, and not as smooth as the Henery I checked out in a store. However, for the diffrence in price I feel like the Rossi is a good buy for the money and feel like I got a good gun. I know that we are not smart enough to be able to put the rifle on a half cocked hammer for a safety position like has been done for 100 years, so Rossi added a safety on top of the receiver, which I'm sure is for Rossi's protection more then the customer. I don't like the safety it takes away from the historical worth of the gun.

I find these reviews helpful, so I thought I would throw my 2 cents in. I ordered this gun the 44 mag in a 20" barrel. All in all, it looks nice. Finish on stock is not perfect - but for the price it certainly met my expectations. Action functioned fine out of box. Did need to spend some time cleaning it to remove grease. At the range the gun functioned well. As expected the magazine and action were a bit stiff as this is a new gun, but no feeding or ejecting problems. The .44 mag does recoil noticeably with the light round barrel. I did get a minor shoulder bruise, so if you want to shoot high volume, you may want to go with the .38/.357. Some report that these tend to shoot high, but I did not experience this issue. I plan to use this next deer season in the ozark woods for still hunting. Should fit the bill. All in all, this appears to be a good buy.

I just purchased a M92 44 Mag from another source than Bud's simply because of availability. The rifle is built solid and has a decent action. There are spring kits available for folks who want to shoot cowboy competition but the rifle is great for hunting and shooting as is. It does shoot a little high out of the box even with the rear sight all the way down on the ramp. There are sights available through stevesgunz.com. Mine held a very tight group at 50 and 100 yds, just about 6 inches high. I am very satisfied with the rifle.

This was my first order with buds.
Took about a week to get my order from start to finish--living in Vermont this was to be expected
Went like clock work---tracked daily through UPS. from Bud's to Lost Target shooting supplies in Pownal Vermont
Package recieved in good shape no damage to either
Brought the Gun home started to shoot it ,seems to hit high and to the right so a bit of tweeking is in order have to take out the bench .
Rifle as described and in fine working out out of the package.
I have used Lost Target for numerous transfer's[ a bit pricy at 25.00 bucks but close and convient ]
I have also purchaed from them as they have a gun shop and full line of ammo in the basement of the house
as i stated we live in Vermont.
