Great gun foe the money but its not a winchester Shoots great

I've bought countless arms from Bud's. Always great; but I had low expectations of this. My Marlin 30-30 is pretty nice, I'm not crazy about my Henry. But when I picked this up it feels like a solid piece of hickory! Levers are for plinking for me, up till now. This thing is awesome and I'd take it out in the country as a primary weapon. No sharp edges, loading gate is nice and easy, no catching fingers, lever is like butter, no rattles, shakes, etc. Oh and the trigger is like my 1911..but lighter! I own tikkas for serious work because of the triggers. This thing has no creep, clean break at about 3 pounds. Really quite nice and again unexpected. I work on all my triggers out of the box. This one doean't need it. The Marlin needed a fancy trigger job. Night and day to my other "play thing" late model levers. Maybe Rossi is paying more attention, maybe I got lucky. Either way I am WAY happy with this purchase.

This is my go to rifle, I love shooting it. I am not much on hunting but on a regular trip to a friends range to kill paper. The only negative thing I have to say is that I am not good with buckhorn sights. Installed some fiber optics sight and shooting right on at 50 yds. I find shooting ammo with a muzzle velocity of at least 850 gives a nice grouping on the target. Action on the Rossi seems to me smooth, I'm not a gun smith but I have no complaints on the action.

I've had my Rossi 92 in .45 Colt for about a year now, and didn't rush writing this review. I wanted a general purpose rifle that would be fun to target shoot with, could hunt and do pest control and even self defense in a pinch. I did a bunch of research before buying and had an idea that the rifle would need some minor fine tuning to make it smooth, but this effort was well worth the huge savings over buying another brand. I filed and smoothed the loading gate area and polished up the action with some 1,000 grit sand paper. I cut a few inches off the magazine spring, which helped. Being as the rifle was stainless steel, it required no refinishing, just polishing to match the factory finish. The action is butter smooth, but the loading process is still average. It had been difficult to load from the factory. I reload, and have run about 1,500 rounds of .45 Colt through my rifle. It works very well, has been supremely reliable and fairly accurate. It's even handles warmer hand loads without issue, bumping it's power level up closer to .454. Shooting it just puts a big smile on my face. I took it hog hunting and dropped a 100 pound sow like a bag of bricks with a 200 grain RNFP hard cast bullet. At 50 yards I can ring a 12 inch gong all day, standing and unsupported. At 100 yards standing and unsupported, the huge front sight bead makes finer aiming more difficult, but I can still ring the 12 inch gong pretty reliably. Bottom line, I wouldn't try hunting with it at over 75 yards unless I had a rest. With a rest, 100 yards max range to be ethical. The round drops about 6 inches at that range. Bud's did a great job getting the gun in my hands quickly and at a fair price.

Order shipped quickly. Buds always does a great job! My new Rossi was pretty impressive. I have heard hit and miss on quality control and fit and finish on these rifles. Mine was definitely a hit! Function and fit and finish are very good. I have held some Henry's and Uberti's and the fit and finish of the Rossi is equal to those at much less cost and half the weight. Rossi' are also suppose to be tough firearms able to handle plus P ammo. Good job Buds, good job Rossi

Awesome rifle for the money. It feeds and shoots any 45 colt you can get, including long bullets like in the hsm bear load. Very light and handy. Fit and finish is ok, but there are scratches from factory and the wood is proud in some soots, but you get what you pay for. This isn't a Winchester or pricy Italian clone, but it runs 100% and is just as accurate as those that you have to pay a lot more for. Great buy for the money. Awesome way to get an 1892 at an affordable price.

This was my first time ordering from Buds, and it won't be the last. Everything went very smoothly. This Rossi 45 Colt is an awesome little gun, in looks and performance. I think people tend to forget what a powerful round the 45 Colt is, It is not much smaller than a 454 Casull. The gun works great, and for me, it is fun to shoot a lever action for a change. Brings me back to my youth with a Daisy bb gun (But a lot more explosive!). Get yourself one of these Rossi "cowboy guns"...You will not be disappointed, and the price is right.
