The mounts on the gun are not aligned with barrel. Poor craftsmanship. Disappointed!

I have been to the range twice with this gun and I will tell you that it is a blast to shoot. It has taken some time to "shoot in" but after the two sessions at the range I can tell that this Savage is going to be a tack-driver. This is my first truly left-handed firearm and I love it! Fit and finish on the gun is good, and functionality has been superb. Everything about ordering/purchasing through Bud's Gun Shop went extremely well, I'm sure it won't be my last purchase.

WOW!!!! What can I say? This is everything that I hoped it would be. The fit and finish of the thumb hole stock is excellent, the stainless steel metal finish is great as well. Now down to the good stuff, in the box were Savage’s instruction booklet, which contains a very true statement, “ this rifle prefers 20 grain ammo”. That my friend is a very true statement. It shoots all bullets well but really shines with the CCI 20grain. Almost one jagged hole, it would be if I could hold better. The trigger is awesome, you never feel any drag, just a little pressure and Boom, you’ve hit the bullseye. I liked the rifle so well I purchased an identical.22 and it’s just as good. If your looking for a rifle that won’t break the bank and is fun to shoot, I highly recommend these Savage target style rifles.

Great gun, tac driver, heavy barrel so there is very little recoil and doesn't veer off after 5 shots due to heat. For lefties this is ideal for fit and shell ejection. Great for small game and coyotes. The 17HMR maybe a small round, but loud. Great for plinking or small game The only downside is that the mag only holds 5 rounds. 10 Round mags are available, but hard to find.

One of the most accurate rifles I own surprisingly. Groups touching at 100 yards. Barrel stays cool for a while. Comfortable stock. Good buy.

very nice layout and it does hold a very tight group if the right ammo is used a good scope helps as well my only complaint is the magazine capacity needs to be more than 5 rounds need a 15 or bigger

Hard to find LH firearms of this quality and price. Took it to our indoor range last week with a Weaver 6-24X42 mounted after roughly bore sighting it from the dining room to the den. At 25 yards it was around 4" low but dead on windage wise. After adjustment I fired 5 five shot groups from rest and all five shots in each group were very near in the same hole and easily covered with a dime. I am 76, old and shaky but this rifle makes me look like a sniper again! Ammo was Hornady 17gr standard off the shelf. I remain thoroughly amazed at the performance of this little rifle. Also note that it was made at Savage's Canadian manufacturing facility in Ontario, super job on the stock, fit and finish, really nice trigger also. A very great value for the price of this rifle. Buds always does a super job expediting my orders and has the best prices, stock, and service bar none.

This is a excellent 17hmr! I've taken it out to 175 yards so far. If there is no wind it'll shoot 3/4" groups at 175 with 20 grain bullets. Thanks Buds!
