Great .45 pistol Excellent Quality

This pistol is a great 45. I like the overall performance. However, as a high cap 45 it's a little thicker than my old WWII era 1911. But carrying almost twice the ammo takes up space so I guess you just have to settle for one or the other - slim with fewer shots or thick with more. I personally feel there is a good reason to have each type in my collection. So I have both! The rest of the aspects of this pistol really make it a world class pistol. It's got a really heavy slide and barrel assembly that makes it feel good in your hand and it absorbs a lot of the recoil just as you would want a 45 to do. But the light weight polymer frame makes this pistol feel like it still weighs less than my 1911, even fully loaded. The safety decock combo feature is really cool. I have never liked to manually decock my 1911. This feature takes all the reluctance to drop the hammer manually away from the equation. In addition, this pistol has the new feature of a replaceable backstrap allowing you to fit the grip to your preference.

Recently bought a FNP .45 ACP from Bud's Gun Shop on line. Bud's Gun Shop did a terrific job as always. I was extremely pleased with the FNP 45 from FN Herstal. It is one of the finest pistols I have ever bought. This baby came out of the box and started driving tacks right away. No jams, no misfires, and super accurate - I couldn't ask for more. I especially like the feature that allows me to carry my FNP45 cocked and locked. This is the way I like to carry my pistols, ready to go at a moment's notice. The stainless steel slide was beautiful, and the polymer frame was very light and extremely well made. And talk about fire power, this baby holds 15 rounds of .45 ACP in the magazine with one up the spout for a total of 16 rounds of 45 ACP, you can't beat that. I also have two 15 round magazines for back up. FN Herstal makes 60% of the small arms now for the US Government. They have been in business for over 100 years and are one of the largest arms manufacturers in the world. FN Herstal is also the manufacturer of the M249 Squad Automatic Weapon (SAW); one of the most successful machine guns of all time. FN Herstal has also done a fantastic job with this FNP 45. This baby will be having a place in my night stand and on my hip from now on. Well done FN Herstal and well done Bud's Gun Shop.

Hard to beat the price at Bud's he beat every gun shop here in Vegas by at least 70 dollars. Everything showed up in great condition and the kick was way less than any other polymer handle handgun that I have shot. Really great experience overall I will defiantly buy here again.

Bud's..........great as usual. The gun................excellent. I received the USG version. One word, wow. It'll double and triple taps like no one's business. Excellent weapon. The slide release is small, but very workable. No issues.

Excellent weapon! Ergonomical, reliable and, in spite of its bulk, relatively easy for cc. The only problem is that the slide release is practically inoperative, to the point where FNH reps refer to it as a "slide stop only," making it the only semiauto in the market without a functional slide release! For that reason only I give it a lower rating than it would otherwise deserve. Bud's service and price, as always, Excellent!
