I am in the process of sending this revolver to Smith & Wesson for warranty repair. After 3 or 4 rounds (both single and double action), the cylinder will not advance. I have used both CCI standard and Federal auto-match ammo with the same results.

I wanted a classic kit gun for outdoor activities and this 8 shot .22 is classy, functional and fun. Bud’s delivered in a timely manner and the package was in excellent condition.

Even though it has changed over the years, this revolver remains the top choice and probably the best of the .22LRs. Extremely accurate and well designed and manufactured, the Model 63 offers a compact but very stable handgun for taking to the field. It is a joy to shoot. Shorts, Longs, and Long Rifles; they all shoot flawlessly. I bought it to practice double action application for my S&W Models 340PD and 19, for which it is perfect.

I really love this revolver. It is accurate. The trigger is a bit stiff. I don’t like the grip but they are super easy to change.

I love these revolvers and have recommended them to many friends. Expensive, as you'd expect from Smith. But not the fit and finish I'd expect from Smith--especially being so expensive. It's like a 95% gun that you want to give to a skilled person to make perfect. Still, I expect my great-grandchildren will be shooting this same gun 80 years from now.

I bought this revolver several years ago, I am very pleased with it. I have an older M63 4" square butt I bought new back in the early 80's. Both are good shooters. I actually like the 3 1/2 barrel better than the 4", it seems in a J frame size, the 3 1/2" feels and balances better in the hand.
