  Hi Keith and welcome. This bullet has a lead core which is the majority of the bullet with a copper jacket. It is considered a lead round. Cheers and stay safe!

  The heavier bullets always seem to have less recoil because at lower velocities they tend to be less snappy and the gun more controllable. This is why 80% of competitive shooters use 147 grain bullets in 9mm.
