This revolver is AWESOME! I have owned an LCR357 and a S&W 642, and this gun is so much more enjoyable to shoot. 38 spl, +P, and 357 mag are all very controllable with this revolver. I would feel comfortable to carry with 357 mag. I've also carried it IWB and it's just as easy to conceal as the before mentioned guns. With the stock grips, it feel nice in the hand. It is extremely accurate. I LOVE IT! Thanks Buds.

Great service from Bud's. I picked up the revolver today. I quickly swabbed it out and put 50 125 gr standard .38 spc handloads through it and 40 160 gr .357 mag heavy hunting handloads through it. The .38's shot a tighter group and were more manageable of course but the heavy .357's shot near as well and were snappy to say the least but not unmanageable for me. I am so far very happy with this little Ruger, and I think it will make a great CCW and home defense weapon. Shooting was done at about 15 yards. With the 3" barrel a tight group on a man sized target is no problem with either ammo in this little revolver at this more than adequate self defense range. It seems to be built as well as my full sized 6" .357 mag GP100 but is small and light enough to conceal carry with a little effort. Ruger seems to fall kind of in the middle on price and so far I find the quality and durability hard to beat.

This is a heavy duty and somewhat compact .357. Many gun experts consider the .357 the most powerful manageable handgun. The fixed sights and short barrel require a lot of practice to master this revolver. I removed the hard plastic grip inserts and fabricated red oak inserts from a piece of firewood laying on my wood stack. Looks much better now. I tried shooting 180gr Double Tap hard cast ammo without any recoil problems. I would not hesitate to use any .357 handgun ammo in this gun.

Very good gun for the price, which was unbeatable by any dealers in my area. Only bad part was that I ordered it during the holiday season, and so I had to wait a few days longer to receive the gun. Still had it in my hands in seven business days exact.

Had a hard time deciding between the 2" and the 3", but very glad I went with the 3". It feels very balanced in my large hands and recoil is minimal with .38 special ammo. I haven't ran .357 in it yet, so I can't speak to that, but hope to soon. I have put 50 rounds through it and it seems to be accurate enough. I am a novice shooter, so I can't say for sure if it's the gun or my ability.

Definitely recommend this gun for a person looking for a quality DA revolver. It's built well, fun to shoot, and I think it will make a pretty good CCW when I receive my permit. Overall very pleased with the gun and smooth transaction. Thanks Bud's! Will definitely be buying again...soon.

Fit and finish on this was a little rough. Cylindar lock up felt tight and solid, but it wobbels a when you swing it out to load it. Also looks like the barrel is slightly off center of you look at the crown from the front the gun, hard to really explain without seeing it. Mine has crimson trace grips on it I think I'll like those once I sight it in. Recoil with 38 specials is easy, 357 still bites a bit. Overall I like my scandium j-frame better, but it's kinda is a differnt gun all together. I'm just a little disappointed with mine after I heard all the raves about a 3" sp101. The trigger is awful after 100 rounds. I hope it smooths up, but it's still a mile long on DA. I will probably keep mine though and practice alot to see if I can get better with it. If I can't i'll start by making the trigger better and go from there. I will say that this thing feels like a tank that will never break. I shot some full house 357 from mine. I imagine this could handle those all day, which I'm not sure my scandium j-frame could. My hand is another story...

This is a good first revolver though. It would be a good gun to teach people on with light target loads. If you have a little more $, a 3" k-frame or even a j-frame would be a nicer gun (I'm not trying to be a S&W snob, but in this case I think it's true). If you buy the sp101, you kinda have to be shopping for something that you would deploy in rugged situations and expect to take a beating. Like a woods gun or something. This isn't my ideal CCW weapon, but I might leave it in an automobile and feel like I never have to worry about it. It's a heavy little gun too. It's fills a niche.

As usual, Bud's delivered perfectly. I havn't had a bad experience with them yet. A+ on customer service.
