Had a 10/22 takedown and decided to sell it and pick up a Deluxe squirrel-greaser. The nicer stock, with checkering, and the omission of the barrel band, make it a great looking plinker. It also came with sling swivels whereas the Takedown and cheaper models did not. I stuck a Leupold rimfire 2-7x28 on it and the rifle balances and carries nicely. The trigger, out of the box, definitely sucks. It is just too heavy. Shooting at anything small beyond 25 yards, especially with a scope, you realize how heavy the trigger is. You are ready to fire and it almost feels like the safety is on---the reticle bounces around a bit and then the trigger finally breaks. I stuck a $40 Volquartsen hammer in the trigger assembly which seems to have taken the trigger pull down to 3 or 4 pounds. This rifle is ready to bust cottontails and squirrels. I'm pleased.

Very happy with this purchase. Accurate and reliable out of the box. Nice quality and good finish. Received fast. A new favorite for the girlfriend too, she's a hell of a shot with it too.

Extremely poor stock to action fit, all around bad trigger with creep and a trigger plunger that was not fitted straight into the trigger housing, dents from the safety into the "Deluxe" stock during assembly I assume because the slot for the trigger assembly is too small for the width of the safety, and the magazine release will not 'free release' the magazine, you must push it back toward the trigger while holding the release(Very difficult).

Buds does not open the gun boxes, so this may be what the new Ruger quality level is today.
