The Ruger Gold Label SxS shotgun is the sleekest and most well-made shotgun I have ever owned. It is however much too light (though not too delicate!) to (generally) handle my favorite game...ducks and geese. But get me out in the grouse woods in Michigan's UP and its weight and balance can let me wander all day without undue fatigue! I added a slip-on Decellerator recoil pad (which actually enhanced its appearance) and it shoots comfortably on the skeet range through 5 or 6 cycles as well as 1-1/4 ounce heavy target loads at late-season grouse or rabits. My favorite use is over decoys on Saginaw Bay with 1-1/8 ounce #3 loads and the Skeet/Modified chokes in the barrels. The 6#5oz weight is balanced by the 28in barrels and muzzle hop is minimal letting me actually bag the occasional double on incomers. So very sorry to see Ruger has ended production. I plan to keep mine and pass it on to my new hunting buddy, nephew Vinnie.
