The 1911 is a model favored by gun enthusiasts of many varieties. It was
the standard issue side arm for the U.S. Armed Forces from 1911 to
1985. The Cimarron 1911 is our first semi-automatic offering. This
firearm is the next logical step for Cimarron; as this was the next
generation of firearm used en masse in World War I. The Cimarron 1911
has the correct historical markings, the original 1911 frame with a Type
1 smooth mainspring housing. It is Colt
parts compliant.

This is a standard Armscor 1911 commissioned by Cimarron with the same build quality and reliability as the Rock Island Armory versions. Biggest differences are the WW1 style frame lacking the bevels by the trigger, and the beautiful polished bluing job. The finish alone makes this 1911 worth a look, especially at the reasonable price. My preference in 1911s is of the government-issued variety and this is my favorite that I've ever owned. The grips are nothing special but with these there are millions of aftermarket options out there. Great option for someone looking for a basic but beautiful GI model.

I have a couple of these Philippines made 1911 pistols. This one is a very nice high polish with no machine marks or flaws. The straight spring housing and spur hammer are the style I like best. This is billed as WWi configuration, and that's really in the "style" of a WWI pistol. The finish is way too nice, and the ejection port is low, along with an incorrect trigger and magazine. Generally a good effort including missing frame cuts as the pistol is pretty and functions like the rest of its Philippine brothers.

As of the moment My 1911 just like the other guy's has a purple frame and black slide. I have contacted Cimarron and will see how they handle it.

I'am writing this review to warn others, that if you buy this, make sure you take a cloth along to wipe off pistol. When I got home and wiped down this pistol, I was horrified, what I mistook as preservative was the finish itself. The high polished blue I was expecting was so dull, I couldn't believe it, upon further examination, I found that the entire frame was dark purple in color. Since I accepted the transfer, I'am stuck with it. Contacted Cimarron, they stated that they would get back with me on settling this situation. They also stated that these 1911's are now being polished in the Philippines and not state side as in the past.

Pleased to receive Cimarron 1911A1 - Blued 45ACP. Pistol looked great and shot flawlessly right out of the box. Exceeded my expectations for an inexpensive 45ACP.

Beautiful firearm. The high polish blue is stunning. It shoots ball ammo fine. I have yet to test it out with other ammo. Everything seems to work on it. Only 50 rounds through it right now, but I have faith this will serve me well for many years. Great price and fast shipping. Many thanks.

Extremely pleased with my Cimarron 1911. Came with double diamond grips which was a wonderful surprise as it seems others didn't. Fit and blue finish are superb. Flawless firing so far through 100 rounds of Fiocchi 230 grain FMJ. My only gripe is the polymer base pad on the magazine but that's no big deal as pretty much any 1911 mag will fit. Overall it's a beautiful, tight, accurate, and fairly cheap 1911.

Purchased this gun because I wanted a polished blue mil spec 1911 at a price that didn't seem overly inflated and in that respect I was not disappointed. The gun is absolutely beautiful and the bluing is superb. The grips however left a lot to be desired as they were not double diamond grips but were instead some cheesy looking cheap wood product. The recoil spring was also defective causing the gun to malfunction by not completely returning to battery and this continued to get worse. After replacing the grips with double diamond rosewood hogues, and replacing the recoil spring and guide rod with Wilson Combat ones, I am now pleased with the product overall. This gun is manufactured by Armscor for Cimarron(Armscor also makes the Rock Island line). Already being the owner of a Rock Island 1911 I expected better right out of the box. Problems aside and an extra $70 for the replacement parts I am happy with the gun. Accuracy is superb and the gun now functions flawlessly. The problems encountered however prevent a 5 star rating.
