S&W M&P40 COMPACT 40S&W POLICE TRADE USED - Blue/Black, 3.5" Barrel, Night Sights

Very happy with my purchase. It is in great condition (Better than expected) shoots great. is dependable and accurate. I've got I Wolf Conversion barrel for it in 9MM and it shoots to point of aim too, so I am very happy.

My M&P 40 Compact was a used Police trade in. It came with two mags, nightsights, and case. I have put close to a thousand rounds down range with the two original magazines and a newer 15 round mag, without experiencing any problems. I tend to stick with 180 gr ammo, mostly Federal HSTs, so I use the same weight ammo to practice with. Most of my range time has been with HSTs, Remington UMC, American Eagle, or Winchester white box (HPs & FMJs) and I’ve never experienced one misfeed or failure to fire. I think the limited contact points between the frame and slide help keep the gun clean during extended range visits and contribute to the reliability that I've had. Being used, my gun did not have the extra backstraps. I was able to order a small and large backstrap one on-line and ended up leaving the original medium in place. The medium that it came with was the best fit my hand. The gun points well for me and quickly comes on target from the draw. The releases and levers are large and easy to use, and the edges are rounded so I have not had any issues with snagging. The gun hits point of aim and allows me to consistently hit a 3” center ring at 10 yards (15 yards on a good day). I get more practice with this gun because it is my EDC so I can usually shoot the compact better than my full size 40s (4” barrels). The gun really does a good job limiting printing with OWB or IWB holsters, I do tend to use an OWB with the M&P compact and migrate towards some single stack pistols for IWB (more for comfort than concealability). The magazines slide in and out without a fuss and the wave design on the back of the slide really does help when opening the slide, even with wet hands or gloves. One of the safety features is an integrated trigger safety; basically a hinged safety that takes up about half of the trigger and makes me want to lower my finger on the trigger to fire the handgun. If I slide my finger down, I tend to shoot low, if I leave it where it naturally lands, the gun will hit the center. The trigger is also a little heavy which I prefer on a defensive handgun, but others may want a lighter trigger pull. Also, this is a 40 S&W so it has the ‘snappy’ recoil at the wrists, but in my opinion, not as much as other 40s have. So much so, that I sold my Glock 27 after purchasing and getting familiar with the Smith. I like the compact Glocks and the Springfields, but I can shoot and handle the recoil of the M&P compact better.

It's a fine weapon, at a fine price my came with a magazine disconnect, Trijicon night sights, An oem box. There was minor monster wear on the firearm which is to be expected from a police trade in.

pistol I received was in like new condition.........almost no holster or internal wear.....night sights pretty weak but that ok........ran flawlessly with Speer hard ball and UMC HP's......a real keeper..2 mags included......will replace my XD45 as my new go to......

I could not be happier with my first purchase from Buds. The gun arrived fairly quickly (there was a delay due to my FFL dealer being closed on Mondays). The case was the genuine Smith and Wesson case and did not have a scratch or scuff on it. Inside the case was the manual, rifling verification, all three backstraps, barrel flag, cable lock, two magazines and the gun itself. I say this knowing it is not a guarantee but I can only assume that the gun had never been issued. The night sites are still on point, there is no holster wear and both magazines looked like they had never been fired from. Everything was pristine. Even if it had all of those things this still would've been a great deal, however the fact that it is basically a brand new gun is phenomenal. Also, I took it to the range yesterday and ran about 200 round through, it shot like a dream. For those of you on the fence, do not be remotely hesitant to buy a former police issue from Buds.

I purchased the weapon on July 13th and received it on July 15th...outstanding shipping. The gun I received came in the original box with two magazines, all three back straps, and all of the original paperwork. The pistol was in great shape and was clean. The two magazines showed some wear, which was to be expected, and the night sights were dead. I didn't purchase this pistol with the unreal expectation that it was going to be mint. I am more than pleased with the weapon. This was my first online gun purchase but it definitely won't be my last. Buds is great to deal with!

I picked up my M&P .40c from my FFL Monday. The gun I received was in excellent condition with functional,bright night sights. It only came with one back strap (large). I also found a receipt from the Colombus, Ohio PD equipment bureau making this a colombus PD trade in. If it would have come with all three back straps I would have given it 5 stars.
