Beautiful gun, however I sold it before I had a chance to shoot it.

I am very pleased with this rifle. Left handed shooters, like myself, have a limited choice of options when it comes to firearms. Too often, we must adapt to using guns set up for right handed shooters. Therefore, I was really interested in a compact, left handed bolt gun. Especially one in a serious caliber like .300 RCM. The gun I received showed typical ruger quality and I have no complaints to make about the gun at all. I put a leupold compact scope on it so as to stay with the compact theme. I have had the gun to the range a couple of times at this point. With hornady factory ammo, the accuracy of the gun is typical of modern bolt guns. I saw groups in the 1 to 2 inch range at 100 yards. However, it is possible to get better accuracy with custom handloads. I spent my second range trip trying various handloads to try to find one that would improve on the accuracy of the factory ammo and I struck pay-dirt. One of my handloads produced a three shot group that measured 0.4 inches (100 yards again) center to center of bullet holes. I figure that this is as good as it is going to get with me behind the trigger. However, it does show what the rifle is capable of when feed ammo that it really likes. Bud's service on delivering the gun was also good so I am a happy customer all the way around with this purchase!
