Very fine gun, excellent quality. it is a little bit light and has some small kickback but nothing to worry about. Convenient for long walk in the fields or woods hunting small game. Avoid subsonic ammo (22 LR SUB) - not powerful enough for this semi-auto rifle.

I just received my gun today and it honestly is one of the best investments I've made in awhile. Out the box it is flawless in every detail and aspect. The stock photo does not give this gun justice. Remington is crazy for pricing this gun for so low. The muzzle brake and silencers make this gun indescribably awesome. I took it out back and fired some rounds at the same spot which was consistent every shot. I am blown away by how amazing this gun is. Buds was quick on the draw to send it to me and I had such a great experience I recommended her buds and she just ordered her a handgun from here. Thanks buds for my new baby!

Great gun. Nice and light, with a very "highly finished" feel to the action and finish. Yet another great experience with Bud's! On a side note, the pic shows some sort of flash suppressor, and it only comes with a cap threaded on the end (as stated in description, just don't be surprised). A standard AR-15 flash suppressor works great, and gives it a good look for about $10.

My first purchase from BGS! Great little .22 for the price to build a competition target plinker/small game rimfire. Just got mine today and installed a Competition Compact Muzzle Brake and Leapers UTG SWAT 30mm 36 color 3-12x44 mil-dot range estimating reticle scope. Next up is a Boyds SS Evolution stock in Nutmeg or Pepper and tossing around the idea of a cheap decent bi-pod to aid in small game hunting and 100yd plinking. I had the chance to test this out against the 10/22 Ruger before purchase and was sold on the 597. Trigger is going to need a little work but it's not exactly horrible. Haven't shot mine yet but hoping everything holds up as I don't feel like putting money into any Volquartsen internals. Might have to do a little tinkering and gunsmithing if results aren't satisfactory but that's half the fun for me... Making this one mine with a few personal customizations. Now just gotta find more .22lr ammo and magazines at a reasonable price. Would be a five star review but Buds took 2 weeks to ship it 3 states and I now see the price dropped after my purchase. However, I will look to Buds for my next purchase. Thanks BGS!

This is possibly the best semi-auto 22 rifle on the market. I installed a 4-12x50 scope and purchased several 30 round Remington magazines to use with this rifle. I have had no failure to feed or eject. I shoot consistent 1.5 inch groups at 100 yards. This rifle is very high quality, accurate, reliable and the threaded barrel could become extremely valuable in a SHTF situation.
