Received my weathershield venture today. Initial impressions are good. This is a solid rifle for money. I hear they shoot well, but have not fired it yet. All other aspects of the transaction from Bud's went exactly has expected. No problems whatsoever. Just read and follow their instructions and the transaction should go smoothly. For the money, I think you would be hard pressed to find a better gun made in America. Will be sending the $75 rebate in soon.....

I have had this rifle for over a year now and I thought it was time to give it a review. I bought mine with the 75.00 rebate. For 400.00, this rifle cannot be beat. The weathershield finish is outstanding. The trigger is exceptionally crisp and light and makes it easy to shoot accurately. The stock does have flex but it comes standard with thick aluminum pillars and even with the flex in the stock I can still shoot 3 shoots into less than half an inch. I could not be more pleased with the quality and perfomance of this rifle for the price. Oustanding T/C!

The weathershield finish surpassed my expectations. I've been collecting shooting rifles for over four decades and "built" many custom rifles and Thompson products are five star! I've owned several Thompson rifles. This rifle has a 1:10 twist so it's not the standard 22-250 twist (1:12 or 1:14) but it does shoot!! I loaded some 40 grain Varmageddons to 4,100 fps today and in a 10 to 15 mph crosswind I still got groups under .4" at 150 yards off of my lead sled. By the time I'd seen this performance the winds were starting to gust over 25 mph so I left well enough alone. I'll be trying them at my sight-in distance of 200 yards as soon as the wind cooperates. IMHO....don't sell this rifle short if you're a reloader and you want a fantastic varmint rifle.
