The legendary 1911 design has been brought into the 21st century with the refinement today’s shooters demand. The SIG SAUER® 1911 proves that close tolerances equal complete reliability and need not be incompatible in an off-the-shelf pistol. I got a call from my ffl dealer to pick up my sig 1911 45 ultra compact form buds. on the next day after work only had time shoot 50 rounds at my outdoorgun club range.I was very happy how it shot that i used it when i took my cchl course the following day and scored a 247 out of a possible 250. Oh yes its a great gun.

I absolutely LOVE this gun. Very accurate for such a short barrel, I am able to hit a 8" target from 50 yards. Small enough to easily conceal. Bud's was great to deal with.

Placed the order on Wednesday, received on Friday. Great job by Bud%uFFFD%uFFFDs as usual.

Got the gun out to the range today. Great shooter. Recoil is as well-behaved as my full Remington 1911. 100 rounds shot flawlessly. My highly-experienced friend was impressed as well.

Going to knock down Sig on the QC for this weapon, though. When I got it home from the FFL, I field stripped it to become familiar with the gun, wipe it down, and oil it the way I want it. I followed the manual as I do with all of my new guns. However, the manual Sig packed with this gun was for Sig%uFFFD%uFFFDs full-size 1911. The Ultra Compact 1911 differs in the barrel bushing and recoil spring plug, and thus differs significantly in the removal of the slide, main spring, and barrel. Sig packed a one-page Ultra Compact manual addendum in the manual that looked like it had been ripped out of another manual. It was lacking in details and had no schematic.

Putting the gun back together the first time was a real trick. I had to manually depress the plunger level to get the slide to move back into position. Once I had the hurdle cleared, it wouldn%uFFFD%uFFFDt move back to position so that could get the slide stop back into place. The issue turned out to be a wrist pin that spanned from side to side on the rails on the frame. I don%uFFFD%uFFFDt think the pin was properly seated, and it stood proud on the left side of the gun, preventing the slide from moving back. After several tries, the slide finally moved back into position. It was apparent on closer inspection that the pin was the culprit since the pin%uFFFD%uFFFDs surface on the left side has been shaved away.

Three stars for poor documentation and poor QC on the manufacturing line. I like the way this gun shoots and I%uFFFD%uFFFDm going to keep it. But I expected the details to be tight on a Sig that cost nearly $1000.

I bought this gun based on looks and the other reviews. I wasn't disappointed! My only complaint is the slide lock and safety levers are no longer sliver(stainless?) in color. They are now black, but it is still a beautiful gun! Seems to be the perfect size for my very small hands, but with a nice weight to it. I'll be taking it out to the range this weekend to start breaking it in and I am totally pumped! I'm impressed with Bud's service too! Even in this high volume time, I still received fast shipping! This is my first purchase, but definitely not the the last! I have 2 more guns picked out!

Excellent little 1911. Extremely accurate, recoil isn't bad, and it's beautiful. I have not shot a Kimber but I've checked many out and I'm glad I saved $300 and went with this Sig. If they have it in stock buy it.
