For sure the smallest firearm I own. BUT don't let that deter ya picking up one of these little pocket revolvers. Just the other day was at the range with and it and I'ma totally impressed with the accuracy being the barrel is just 2.5 inches long. No problem at all hitting target at 25 feet. Build quality is top-notch. The ext boot grip is very easy to have a firm grip when firing. Definitely recommend NAA for your pocket revolvers.

The Sheriff revolver by NAA is FUN! I took it to the "range" about a week ago and could not stop shooting it. Granted, it is small, almost too small for my hand, which explains the mostly 5" to 12" groups at 25 yards, but the gun itself is accurate. When I could properly aim it at the same spot, it would hit within a couple inches of the previous round, even at 25 yards. It is a challenge to shoot accurately, but the gun itself is accurate. It shoots a little high with Gold Dot .22 magnums, but this is not a problem when you know what to expect. I repeat myself, this firearm is FUN! Let's not argue about .22wmr from a 2.5" barrel. The round is what it is, although I've seen some tests on the popular internet sites with Gold Dot's "short barrel" .22 WMR loading and it looks effective to me. The primary purpose of this firearm is to have fun. It is sick fun. It is just plain awesome. My brother brought out his LCP and we shot the little guns alternately for about an hour and could not get enough of the Sheriff. It is just plain sweet. I did have cramps in my hand that evening from gripping the tiny little boot-grip, and if you're not careful the side of the cylinder will smack your thumb. .22 mags pack a bit of a punch, and 7 ounces of handgun just will not soak up that much recoil. You will know you've been shooting. BUT, it's soooo worth it. For concealed carry I'd probably go with the Black Widow (if you want a NAA revolver, and why not?). The front sight on the widow is a traditional ramp. It will not snag or hang up on cloth the way the post sight will on the front of the Earl line, of which the Sheriff is the shortest barrel example. Also, the cylinder pin seems like it could be inadvertently pulled loose because of the way the lock is released (the force applied to release it is partly in the same direction as you pull it out of the gun). The Widow's cylinder pin locks more securely in place, in my humble opinion. That having been said, this little gun is a sweet 1880s style piece. It's not an 1860s style gun, despite NAA's official designation. It's a cartridge gun, with a removable cylinder pin, very similar to some late 19th Century models, only small. Really small. My size 12 wedding band almost fits over the cylinder! It is also a very high quality firearm, and 100% made in the USA! The wood is nice too, and the grips can be replaced by larger stocks made by North American Arms if you find that you just can't shoot it well enough with the originals. I love this gun. I own 8 firearms and this is my favorite.

My mom got me this gun as a EDC and BUG to my Glock 29. I chose this gun bc it is much more than that. It has much more percise sights than the combat style on the BW and a 25% longer barrel. It shoots great with the gold dots but also bc of the longer barrel and percise sights it is very handy as a ranch and river gun and will launch v-max and drop a coon at the top of the tallest pecan trees. I still prefer my super companion for snakes bc I can custom load some nasty smokeless snake loads but that's now a boot gun and doesn't get snake loads anymore. I switch from the boot grips it came with for when it's more of a belt gun to the normal bird grips when it's in my pocket. I plan on getting a set of pearl or stag bird grips to really make it look good when I don't have the awesome boot grips on. If you are deciding between this and the bw this is more of a utilitarian gun and bc of the percise sights the bw will be faster with out practice. However, if you want a mini that will shoot like a big revolver get this. Buds 5* my FFL 1* keep that in mind when choosing a FFL. They made me wait bc 2 weeks to pick it up bc the guy was "busy."

i ordered this firearm on 02/28/14. it did not arrive at my chosen ffl dealer until 03/17/14 . i guess maybe i wasnt clear on the fact that the guns are not all in some big warehouse on the property of buds guns......or whatever. good thing i wasnt in a big hurry for it! I could have bought this same gun at my local gun shop and would of had to pay about fifty dollars more for it and only had to wait the manditory 72hrs. as for the gun , i am happy with the quality of this north american arms product as with the one i already own it is a high quality ,relyable firearm. buds shipped all non firearm related items within the first week, so no issues there but in the future i probably wont order anymore firearms through buds guns.
