The Wassenaar Arrangement Semiautomatic Rifle is a semi-automatic version of the Romanian military Pistol Mitralier model 1963/1965, better known here in the US as the "Romy G". Made by Cugir Factory and Imported and modified by Century International Arms to conform with 922(r) the WASR is an inexpensive, durable, reliable and customizable Kalishnikov series rifle, and the GP WASR 10 is perfect for the beginner or AK-47 purist.

Items Like The Century International Arms Inc. WASR-10 16.5" 7.62 x 39mm Semi Auto Rifle
Cons: Nothing comes with these imported Romanian AKM’s anymore. No cleaning rod, No cleaning kit, and only one Magpul AK Pmag generation one. Meaning polymer locking tab, not metal. If you’re expecting a grade a finish, don’t. Anything from the Cugir factory is going to come with a standard parkerized finish with scratches, you have to expect that. The wood stock set they use now a days is cheap U.S. Hard wood with a semi gloss finish, you’ll want to replace this if you plan on doing extensive shooting.
Pros: the days of canted front sights, and gas blocks are pretty much gone. Everything on this WASR10 is straight. All parts are new manufactured with matching numbers. All though I stated the finish as a con, it could be a pro for some people (like myself) that like the character it brings to the rifle. AK’s aren’t meant to look pretty. Period. The barrel is cold hammered forged and chrome lined. The trunnions, bolt, and carrier are all cold hammered forged as well. In my opinion this is a great rifle that only needs a furniture upgrade. I would recommend this to any purist or first time AK buyer. These aren’t $350 dollars anymore, and the price will continue to climb over $800. Better act fast, who knows what could happen with political sanctions. Imports like this are becoming more scarce. If you want one, don’t hesitate. I 100% recommend this over any American made AKM. The way I see it is, I would buy an AR15 made in Romania, why would I buy and AK made in America?
