Major issues right out of the box. It seemed ok inspecting it upon the transfer, once I was putting rounds through it the trigger locks to the rear in double action and requires two hands to reset sometimes, also cocking into single action while sighting in it seemed to not lock all the way back and just took a hairs touch to set it off which basically was an uncommanded discharge. Its on its way back to Ruger I have not even had it 5 days. I have 6 Ruger products, this is the third I have sent back for serious problems like this. I will never buy another one I dont care how "awesome" their 6 week turn around is on my brand new gun

Ruger has offered another good one. I like this gun. And being a revolver it’s really fun to shoot.

Nice gun to carry when hiking in the woods. I usually stop and plink at a beer can, always seem to find one.

I purchased this as a companion/trainer for the .357 counterpart SP101 that I also purchased from Buds. It has evolved from that role, it's now my favorite .22 pistol to shoot, every time 22lr goes in my range bag, this gun goes with it. Total blast to shoot. It's not exactly a S&W 617, which I've also shot a lot. But it's not meant to be and you're not going to pay S&W 617 prices. Sure it's 2 rounds fewer capacity, but I can shoot this thing all day and still have a smile on my face. Added bonus is being a revolver it will slow down my shooting and make the session longer!

Shoots fine, works fine, feels fine, Looks great. Is it necessary to spend so much on a 22? I'm no sorry and have gone both ways. When anyone holds it the feel of quality jumps out at you so I like it. No need to change grips or springs like I have on others. The front sight works better than expected.

8rd of 22lr! If you like SP101s, you should consider adding this one to your collection. Good target sights.

Needs a trigger job! Entirely too difficult to shoot as double-action but as single, operates fine. For single action, you may find your thumb getting a little raw until you build up a calaces or something. Very nice looking revolver, sometimes has trouble ejecting certain (cheap) brands of ammo, but consistently reliable in shooting. Several hundred rounds so far and not one issue there. Easy to clean and accurately on target every time. A little heavy for a 22 but this is a little bull dog and may last you a really really long time, even with frequent shooting.

Really enjoy this gun. The size is perfect for a .22 and while it's slightly hefty, it feels like a well made, solid gun, which it is. It balances great and overall it just feels right. One thing to keep in mind that many overlook is that rimfires often need a heavier trigger pull for proper functioning, and out of the box the trigger is a bit stiff. It's not unmanageable, but it's heavier than the centerfire SP101 models. I bought a Wolff spring kit for the gun, specific to the .22 models and it helps out a ton, installation is easy and can be done with simple hand tools. The cylinder on this gun locks up very tight and as far as the finish, if you're accustomed to stainless Rugers, it's about typical. The finish is good but do expect some tool marks and minor scuffs. Luckily a little high grit sandpaper and some 3M scotchbrite pads will get it looking perfect. I've only shot it about 100 times but it's a blast! It's accurate and it's very simple to operate and you know, while it's somewhat oldschool, it's about the most fun as you can have with a handgun. I like this model so much I'm thinking about ordering up the exact same version in .357 Mag.

A fun gun to shoot, and because it is a revolver, it shoots any type of 22 LR ammo that you put into it.

Can not eject spent brass with ejector rod. Tried 3 different manufacturers of ammo. I contacted Ruger to see if they’ll fix the problem.
