Took possession of this lil" beauty on 8/31 and put 75 rounds through it that day. Since I have put another 50 with no problems at all. The last 50 was remanufactured ammo and she ate it like candy. The small lightweight frame is perfect for pocket or ankle carry and so far very reliable. The only drawback is it coming with only one magazine. I purchased another brand 10 round magazine that seats but it will not feed. I had to go with the Taurus factory 6 round magazine to get it to work properly. It will fit your hand much better and absorb some of the kick if a grip extender is purchased for the magazine. I have yet to shoot any hollow points, but I racked out an entire magazine of hollow point self defense ammo with no feed problems. Bottom line; for the price and the carry benefits of the 738 TCP380, I would definatly purchase it again. Buds is a great place to purchase firearms with a very smooth buying process.

First, props to Bud's for a very competitive price and fast and excellent service.
Took the gun to the range with Sellier and Bellot 92 grain FMJ for break-in, and Hornady Critical Defense for practice with the actual ammo I would be carrying. The Taurus worked perfectly from round 1, no jams, or failures to do anything for 150 rounds. I even mixed the S&B and Hornady loads in the same magazine - no problems. Accuracy was fine with many holes touching (at 5 and 7 yards) despite the very low profile sights that are almost invisible when focused on a small black target. A few drops of white-out should solve that nicely. It's no secret that Taurus has problems with the Millenium class pistols, and a mixed reputation for initial quality control and customer service in general, but this pistol is a winner. It is much more controllable than a Keltec P3AT or a Ruger LCP, equally accurate or better, the bolt stays open on the last round, there's a bolt hold open tab for cleaning and inspecting (a feature several competitors lack), and most important in a carry gun, it was utterly reliable with the FMJ and hollow point ammunition I tried. Conceals easily in a pocket - no reason to ever leave home without it. And last but not least, it is a very handsome pistol. .

Great service from Bud`s I had no idea what to expect out of a TCP 738 and was pleased with both the accuracy and the trigger is great for DAO trigger, plus it doesn`t bite me like my W------- .380 MR Bond must have had tough hands. I seriously doubt you can find a better micro .380.

I was unsure about this gun. I have owned other Taurus pistols before and they were just ok. This gun fits that bill for the most part. Great pocket concealment. The recoil is pretty snappy but manageable for the most part, the sights definitely need to be painted but seem to be accurate. I can only run about 100 rounds through it before my hands are shot though. The only downsides are the trigger: the trigger has a very long pull to break but it is smooth. If you try and stage this trigger you will inevitably shoot like crap. But if you do one consistent pull its a nice shooter. The only other real downside I have is the extraction pattern. IT'S ALL OVER THE PLACE. Brass fly in every direction without much rhyme or reason, including back over my head every once in a while. I have put around 3 or 400 rounds through mine and just now cleaned it. I might have had one FTE in that whole time. Don't expect to shoot distance with this gun but it definitely functions and conceals well. The gun has functioned flawlessly and I wouldn't have much of a problem throwing it on my person and carrying it.
