Not a fan of this shotgun, nor am I a fan of the 12 gauge model. The action is not smooth would not buy again

I am able to shoot 1’’ groups with this slug gun using Remington Accutips @ 100 yards. Other loads are 1 1/2’’ Or less. Great value, good quality and I love the accutrigger . I would recommend this slug gun to anyone who hunts in a state that requires it. 20 gauge is not a handicap according to the 7 deer that have all dropped in their tracks or fell within eyesight…

As a south paw I have tough time finding the fire arm I want at a reasonable price. I orginally ordered the savage from a buds competition, a month later my fire arm had not shipped and I was getting the run around about why it hadn't shipped. Turns out they had sold out, that same day I ordered the same savage 220 lh from buds they charged me $30 less then the competition and my fire arm was at my ffl dealer before I had even received my refund from the competition.

I have hunted with this shot gun for 2 seasons now. I added a Nikon drop reticle slughunter scope. This gun shoots like a rifle. I have harvested 5 deer with it and needed no second shots. Distances ranged from 90 to 135 yards and I felt like I could just as easily taken a deer at 200 yards. Action is smooth and consistent. I use the recommended Remmington premium accutip slugs. Can’t say enough positive about this gun. It has made me a Savage Arms fan!

Initial impressions of the Savage 220 are positive and I had a Nikon slug hunter scope mounted and bore sited. I just completed another purchase with Bud's. And I must say . . . 100% positive. Transaction was timely, information transmitted clearly and delivery was as stated. Luv it! ! I have taken this gun to the range two times. The first sight in trip I shot two different groups at 50 yds where the first two shots were touching and the last three shots (on a warm barrel) were touching (Winchester 2 3/4" Supreme sabots). Impressive! The next trip was with 3" remington Accutips (recommended by Savage and other gun owners). First three shots were 1 3/4" and the last two on a warm barrel were slightly outside of that (who would shoot 5 times with a bolt action shotgun?). As far as the accuracy of this gun, it performed to my expectation level. The overall fit and finish (IMO) is directly related to the price point of the gun. There is a gap on either side of fore end of the stock and barrel that is inconsistent from one side to the other. I also have a gap near the safety and the stock that is different from one side to the other. This gun is a spartan tool with pretty nice accuracy. I spent more for the warne mounts and leupold VX2 than I paid for the gun? Overall for the money, it is a good value.

WOW! Amazing rifle/shotgun. I was able to get out and try several different slugs through this rifle and the groupings were incredible. Best for me were the Remington accutips. I was able to get 1 1/4" group at 100 yds. SIghted in and ready to go for this upcoming hunting season. Only knock is the plastic magazine that can be sort of a pain to get and seat properly, but the firearm is amazing and extremely accurate. A+ for Buds and the Savage 220.

I took this to the range yesterday and got it sighted in a 100 yds quickly with great results. This is the best option I have found for deer hunters in shotgun areas that want to take as many variables out of the accuracy equation as possible.

What an excellent company! Thanks to Buds Guns for making my left-handed rifle purchase quick, easy and cheap. I'll definitely shop here again. The savage 220 is an excellent, accurate weapon. I look forward to using it this fall on deer. I couldn't be happier with my new Savage.
