I actually bought this as a joke since my kids are all teenagers or older. This is now one of our favorite guns. Put 3-9x40 scope on it (almost bigger than the gun). It is surprisingly accurate. Easy to use and fire, never had any issues with, I would highly recommend it for all ages.

The Savage Rascal is a great little rifle that can be used to help teach younger shooters some basic fundamentals of operating a bolt action. The quality is good and what you would expect from Savage. The peep sights are pretty accurate. Again, it’s a good starter rifle to help teach the younger shooters.

In my option this is the best small rifle on the market in the same class. I purchased a rascal for my son and a ”insect gun” that I will not name for my daughter. After receiving the rascal, I decided to sell the insect gun and purchase her a rascal also. These firearms are so compact but still able for adults to shoot comfortably. I see why a lot of coon hunters use these.

I purchased this weapon for my daughter‘s seventh birthday, and had an amazing time at the only shooting range in central Florida that recognizes that children under 12 need to be taught how to safely and properly operate a firearm (shout-out to shoot straight in Casselberry,FL). I recommend this firearm for new youth shooters, and shoot straight to anyone in central Florida.
