The FNX™-45 is the result of years of innovative
product development and advanced engineering techniques. Modeled after
the FNP™-45 service pistol introduced in 2007 under the U.S. Joint
Combat Pistol Program, the FNX™-45 is a
double-action/single-action hammer-driven pistol with highly enhanced
ergonomics. Its manual safety/decocking levers, slide stop lever and
magazine release are all fully ambidextrous for ease of operation with
either hand and from any firing position. Both the slide and barrel are
stainless steel. The FNX™-45’s checkered polymer frame
has multiple interchangeable backstraps with lanyard eyelets. A MIL-STD
1913 mounting rail on the underside accepts tactical lights and lasers. Includes (2) 15rd mags.

I live in IL where 15 rounds is the max capacity. Might as well make them 15 rounds of 45 cal! This has become my fav home defense firearm. I am a fan of DA/SA hammer fired guns. Trigger is good. Integrated safety de-cocker is good. Ergonomics are a bit blocky, but it is most definitely not a carry weapon. Bud's was great. Prompt delivery, no issues.

Very accurate gun and of course you can't beat a pistol chambered in the Lord's caliber. Buds knocked it out of the park once again. It got to my FFL faster than they said it would.

I was looking for a home defense hi capacity 45. As far as meeting those needs the FNX is great! The double action design is perfect, the hammer travel is short but reliable. It feeds all ammo well, I have had no failures. The polymer grip is OK, but feels clunky and not at all ergonomic. The stipple design feels odd, and the color is a greenish brownish dog vomit color. The thing is a brick and will rest well in the nightstand. Carry would be cumbersome especially with spare mags. You get 1 spare only and new FNX mags are around 54 dollars. The product is good overall but certainly not a versatile choice.

As a disclaimer, my rating is directed entirely at this pistol, and not Bud's. Bud's has always been the finest online firearms retailer in the world. With that said, I quite disliked this pistol. On paper, it looked really great. A great big .45 boss hog war pistol with a huge capacity. What's not to like? In reality though, I experienced numerous failures in the first 100 rounds, and that is after disassembling, thoroughly cleaning, and lubricating this weapon after I received it. The trigger was just garbage, and the entire experience was terrible. I tried a couple more range visits after more cleaning and fine-tuning, but it remained a jam factory. FN has a great reputation, but I had a very bad experience with this. I may have gotten a lemon, but buyer beware.

It’s really nice to have a gun that can hold 15 rounds of .45acp. I did have some problems with the hammer not wanting to fall when shooting in double action but after sending it to FN they worked it over and it is now functioning flawlessly

Well this FNX-45 is awesome. It is worth the hype. In single action, the trigger is super smooth. Recoil is very manageable. Even though it is a larger gun, it is very manageable. Overall very fun to shoot.
