You need to see this gun in person. It is much finer than the pictures reflect. Could not be happier with my purchase. Have not shot this gun but just have not had the chance. I really hate to shoot it. I would rather just admire it. A beautiful piece of craftsmanship.

More fun than a barrel of monkeys to shoot. Very little recoil and easy to handle.

I’ve had this Mares leg for several years now and have fired around 200 rounds through it. First I’ll say that this is mainly a gun for someone who likes unique weapons because it is not practical at all. It is best fired from the hip where it is a blast. Try firing it using the open sights and not so much fun. Anyway, I love it, and like all Henry weapons it is quality and beautiful.

The Henry Mares Leg (choose your flavor) 22,44,357 Polished and fancy or just simply black, this Gun is both beautiful and fun to shoot. I purchased leatherwork for two of my Mares Legs from Jon on EBay. Man these things look awesome.

Oh man. I love this gun! This thing is a hoot to shoot. Started with .44 Special ammo to get used to how to hold and aim it, but quickly moved to .44 magnum. The semi-buckhorn rear sight takes a bit of getting used to, but now I find I'm more accurate with this beast than any of my handguns! Recoil is straight back, hardly any upward motion at all and readily manageable. Everyone comments on this thing at the range and it makes quite the pop when fired. Plus, it is rated as a handgun so you can use it on any handgun range. If you want to try something different and super fun to shoot, try one of these! One caution: when loading, make sure the lever is in the closed position otherwise the cartridge can get jammed and be a bear to shake loose.
