The 712 outfitted with the ATI adjustable stock was originally designed as a shotgun to fit the entire family. This is because the combination of the quick handling soft shooting 712 gas operated system and the ATI stock makes it easy for smaller framed people to handle and effectively shoot. But it seems there are many other applications for this combination such as turkey hunting, waterfowl hunting, 3-gun competition and youth trap shooting just to name a few.

I have owned this gun for about 2 years now and have put probably 2000 rounds through it, and it has functioned flawlessly. I bought the gun as a loaner for when I take new shooters to the range and for that it's been perfect. The adjustable stock is just what you need to fit the gun to almost any shooter. The gas system dampens out lots of recoil and has functioned as advertised. I introduced 3 friends to sporting clays and I normally take 3 or 4 of my guns to the range so everyone has something to shoot and they always fight over this one. I don't think you can by a better more solid shotgun for under 500 bucks anywhere. This gun isn't a Browning or a Benelli but it's a very good gun for the money. I can't wait until the 20GA youth model hits the stores so I'll have something for the grand kids and the smaller women shooters. If your on the edge buy this gun, it's worth it..
