If you want a lightweight rifle…. This is the one! With a pencil stainless barrel, B&C stock and a .308 short action, this firearm is a true feather weight. Solid reliable Remington bolt action. Shoots great groups at the bench once you figure out the proper hold routine. it’s so light, you literally need to grab a commanding hold of the stock and provide downward force to get impressive groups. A leupold VX 3 in 3x9 works well for a mid/close range Western Oregon black tail gun.

Lightweight and groups great. This does has a pencil barrel on it and will shoot sub MOA but after 5 consecutive shots the barrel needs to cool. Shoot groups will start to open up a little if the barrel is hot.

I bought mine from Buds through Gunbroker. Perfect deal with no issues. Everything functioned as it should. The rifle shoots very well and is a great lightweight deer rifle in .308 Win. I replaced the factory trigger with a Timney trigger factory set to 3 pounds even and, it got just a bit better. But the factory x-mark pro trigger worked fine for me as well. The rifle did need a good cleaning out of the box, but I always do that with a new rifle before mounting a scope or shooting it anyway, so that's just not a big issue to me.

Recieved the rifle in good order from Buds. Upon woprking the bolt, there was an annoying squeak in the bolt. I cleaned and oiled as instructed in the manual, stil the squeak persisted when I closed the bolt. In addition, the trigger is out of spec ... It will not go lower than 6 pounds of pull pull, as measured from a calibrated Lyman trigger pull guage, using an average of 10 sample pulls. I feel this is not an issue with Buds, but more of an issue with Remington QC. I have contacted Remington. A service repair has been generated, and they will send UPS to pick up the rifle and eliminate the squeak and get the trigger into specifications.

The rifle is light and will be great to carry around all day. I got the .308 Dislike the way Remington packaged the rifle so dirty and gritty I pulled out of the box and my hands were BLACK from all the shop dirt. I wonder if they even clean the shop. I am sorry but when you buy a new car it is cleaned before it is delivered. This is unprofessional from Remington. Buds delivered on time and I am thankful for that. This has been my second purchase from Buds. Always happy shopping at Buds.
