My 45 acp Beretta Storm makes for a reliable home defense weapon with almost no perceived recoil. The rail nicely accommodates a red dot. My only regret was that clips are limited to 8 rounds.

Very nice weapon. Buds always comes through.... love the layaway solution! Obviously a .45 has more punch than the same CX4 Storm Carbine in 9mm (I own both... yes, both purchased from Buds). The .45 is faster on target than a Thompson .45! The Beretta targeting system (high sights), form and function of the weapon on the CX4 Storm is definitely a winner from Beretta. These short lightweight rifles in small caliber are way more accurate on targets 30 to 60 yards away than pistols or pistols with braces. They can place numerous more rounds on smaller targets than pistols. Beretta's engineers were really brainstorming with the ergonomics. Rifle has a very good feel to it! Can't wait to drop a prism sight on it! These same short lightweight rifles are perfect for urban offense & defence use. The projectiles have good knockdown power and do not penetrate/stray through too many walls like a 556! I wish Beretta would manufacture some larger mags for the .45 cal version of the CX4. 8 to 9 rounds is not too bad.... just have to be a little more in tune with changing the mags. Practice? I guess! I've had no failure to fire in 300 rounds.

Excellent gun. Got it within four days of purchase. Took it to the range immediately, and dumped 200 rounds down range. Smooth, compact and surprisingly not as loud as you might think. Definitely happy with this purchase.

I have both the 9mm and 45 in this weapon; the review is about the same. Great weapon once you top it with a red dot (I have a Zeiss Compact Point) and replace the trigger. Also some may find the stock a little short but Beretta has addon buffer pads available. My only real complaint about the rifle was the trigger which seems to bother many (Google it). It is not smooth and seemed to me to require inconsistent pressure and released inconsistently also. With the Zeiss zeroed at 25yds sub 2" groups with 230gr ball and sub 10" groups at 100yds which was also the far end zero plus a ~3" hold over. In sum: great gun but replace the trigger. For home defense both would be great but the 45 with P JHP would be my choice. Clocked 230gr at 1100fps at 10ft.

I purchased the 45 cal. CX4, I orderd it on a Thursday and got it the next Thursday. I was absolutely amazed at how helpfull the phone rep. was during the ordering process!! I would 100% recommend buying from buds guns!! They were great and my gun came when promised!! Now on to the gun!! Amazing!!!! If your on the fence about this then jump over!! It's Awesome!! I've read forums about how the trigger is funky but I can personally say that I've put about 150 rounds thru it and no problems whatsoever!! Not only is it really cool looking but it shoots like a champ!! My only complaint is the 8 round mag. but it's not bad enough that I wanted a smaller caliber. Buds was great, gun is awesome! Lots of fun and can't wait to fire some more lead down range

If you're looking for an excellent 'lil fun / self defense / zombie apocalypse firearm, then LOOK NO FARTHER! This little carbine is well built accurate and packs a punch. The factory 230 gr JHP ammo I carry in my CCW pistol chrongraphed at 1040 fps through this rifle. Keeping 8 for 8 rds in a 8" circle at 100 yds offhand is no problem. I considered the Hi Point , but knew I would always wish I'd bought the Storm. I'm glad I did. You just need to handle and fire this carbine to fully appreciate it's virtues! I've ordered an Eotech and a Streamlight TLR 2 for it, can't wait to get it all tricked out! Try this rifle, if a 45 acp carbine is what you've been looking for, you'll be glad you did! Thomas L James
