  Curtis, I own two of them and have for a few years. They are reliable, accurate and one of the best bang for the buck pistols you can own. They have a few teething problems when first introduced but that has been ironed out many years ago. Cheers and stay safe!
• Q: I read that there is a 10+1 and a 16+1 round capacity magazines for the SD9VE. Am I to understand that there are both a single stack and a double stack SD9VE?

  Joseph, both are Double Stack Sir. Most manufacturers including S&W make firearm packages that have 10rd magazines so their pistols can also be sold in state that have magazine capacity restrictions. The pistols are exactly the same but just have 10rd mags included. The pistols will also accept any standard capacity magazines and vice versa for the higher capacity magazine model accepting the 10rd magazine.

• Q: Any reason why this same gun with a 16 round mag is 269 for the 16round and 329 for the 10 rd version on buds. When i try to price match , I get an offer of 318.00, bizarre...

We do not price our guns manually based on our cost in each, rather we use a live download from manufacturers and distributors to set our price based on our current replacement cost. As our cost changes, the corresponding website price of each make/model will change up/down accordingly. Although our profit margin remains unchanged, our advertised prices will change frequently, sometimes several times per day."

• Q: Hi, total newbie here... could someone tell me the difference between this cheaper version of S&W SD9VE 10+1 9mm 4" vs. "California Approved" version? It seems like they have the same specs and same mag capacity, not sure why where was a price difference? Thanks!

  The price difference is because they have to change the trigger group. Anything that is sold to a niche market like CA only will be a higher price thanks to supply and demand. Your state is beautiful, but sorry that they have the most backward gun laws in the country. In a way I believe that CA knows that by imposing stricter and stricter requirements, gun manufacturers eventually won't bother to adhere to them and they won't be legal to sell in CA. Gen-4 Glocks are a prime example.
