Very happy with the purchase. Was looking for a dependable battle rifle at a reasonable price and this is it. The reviews you see about metal shavings from the factory are true, so give it a good cleaning before you take it shooting. Also the steel magazine it comes with had a few rust spots on it, but we all know how humidity and steel get along. It was probably in a massive warehouse for months if not years. The furniture is well finished and solid. The gun is tight and rattle free. IMHO, you cant find a better deal for an AK.

First of all, the gun is beautiful. There were bits of shavings that had to be removed during the initial cleaning as others have said, but other than that the finish was blemish free. The stock was also excellent, like you would expect to find on a high end firearm. This AK shoots like a dream! If you've been looking for an awesome AK at a reasonable price, this is the one...I love it! Buds had a little problem updating the shipping info this time, but that was a first so I'm not gonna complain. You won't be disappointed with this gun!

Accuracy right out of the box. This gun was a little dirty when I got it and had a few scratches in the wood grain, but nothing bad. I fired over 100 rounds through it the day I got it and had no mechanical issues, the metal clip that came with the gun however did have some issues loading with ammo. The plastic clip was a very tight fit, but that is because it needs to be broken in due to being new, but functioned perfectly.

Great gun. Built solid, nice finish on the wood, good weight, and no failures to feed or eject after 1000 rounds of Tula ammo. The safety lever is a bit stiff.. and by a bit I mean a lot. It may just be the one I got, but you got to use a lot of force to move it down, up is no problem. I oiled it, and it helped a little, but its still stiff. Regardless, I am completely satisfied with this weapon. I put in the order last week on Wed, came in the following Monday. Super fast service, excellent product, will definitely do business with Bud's again and recommend this rifle to anybody who wants a quality AK for a reasonable price.

The Zastava N-PAP is new production made in Serbia and imported by Century. This is the "Gen 2" version, which comes with a Tapco trigger, side rail for mounting a scope and the proper bolt carrier for double stack magazines. Mine came with a new Tapco and a refurbished metal 30-round magazines.

The gun came relatively clean, although I would recommend cleaning the gun anyway. Mine had no metal shavings as others stated, but a couple of oil stains that were easily removed with a solvent. The furniture is nice and does not have a blemish, the finish of the gun is nice and even. Tight fit, nothing rattles, the safety is tight but easily operable with the thumb. Magazines fit tight and there is no wobble... mag release will need to loosen up a little before I can do one-handed reloads.

One of my fears was the stock... since the rifle doesn't accept standard AK stocks, I was concerned about the stock been to big for me, but it fits me perfectly: placing stock on shoulder and then bringing the stock to my face, not my face to the stock. The sight picture is clear and my face is not on the back of the receiver (as I have to do with my Polish with a wire stock).

Another issue for some is the non-chrome lined barrel. I clean my guns after every shooting session and do not intend to run corrosive ammo thru this, so not an issue for me.

Overall, I am very satisfied with the N-PAP... it feels solid in your hands, well built and the fit and finish is nicer than most entry-level AKs I've seen/shoot. Between this and a WASR, I would go with the N-PAP. The only downside I see is the non-standard parts (i.e. stock, dust cover, etc.).
