This is an excellent rifle. I have several other rifles by Remington, Tikka, and Savage. This classic rifle has style and close attention to detail. The trigger is very crisp and small details like the epoxy bedding of the recoil lug, the milled follower, glossed receiver, and steel floor plate make this rifle a "keeper". The 7x57 is a timeless cartridge, flat shooting and can be loaded with a variety of weights from 120-175. The great thing is the receiver is a long action and the 7x57 is an intermediate cartridge, so one can seat the bullets out very close to the lands and still feed from the magazine. The 7x57 is very mild on recoil as compared to the .280, or 308/-06. Perfect for a new hunter, youth big game hunter, or someone who just does not prefer a lot of recoil. My Rifle with Warne steel rings and dual bases, Leupold VXR 3-9x40 weighs 7 lbs 13 oz.
