Put this grip on my ar-15. Love the feel. Great upgrade. I am a Hogue fan.

I've been putting Hogue grips on my handguns for a long time. I like the look-and-feel they exhibit and for strong kicking arms, they are a definite help in maintaining a solid grip on the weapon. I bought this model for a Single-Six I purchased. I had a devil of a time getting it to fit properly (my errors) but when it was finally on, it looked and felt pretty good. However, after a couple of days, the rubber relaxed from all the pushing and tugging I'd given it and molded itself to the frame such that now it looks like a custom installation. During installation, the "trick" turned out to be keeping the stirrup nut aligned with the screw hole in the bottom of the grip. This is easily accomplished by, at about half-way into installation, slipping a small screwdriver through the hole in the bottom of the grip and into the nut in the stirrup. Keep the screwdriver (or other small rod) in place until the grip is fully pushed into place. It's that simple. During the process, I swapped several e-mails with the super people at Hogu. I'd rate their customer service as "Excellent!". One hint they had was to shorten the screw a little, perhaps 1/8" or so. This will ensure that it doesn't bottom out on the frame and limit the amount of pressure on the stirrup.

Very difficult to rotate into position. Requires the use of old credit cards as shims to get the rubber to slide up onto the handle. Even with this trick and the use of slide grease, the grip never fit correctly. It would level at least 1/8th of an inch of the handle exposed above the grip. This is 1/8th of an inch of the entire palm side of the handle's frame riding higher than the grip itself. Called the manufacturer and they are sending me a replacement. Hopefully the replacement will fit. This was for a Ruger New Single Six.
