The Remington 700 SPS in 300 RUM is quite a handful. Shipped quick and I would absolutely recommend this fine rifle to anyone. Can’t wait to shoot it once I decide on a scope!

I wAS PLEASENTLY SURPRISED BY THE WAY THIS GUN SHOT!! 1st load up the pipe was a 200 gr sierra with norma cases. CCI 250 primer and the new IMR 7977 powder. OAL of 3.690. 3 shot group at 100 yards of 3/4 inch for 3 shots. Perfect triangle. Another surprising thing is the barrel. Very little fouling. I talked to my smith and he said Remington now has a hammer forged and a button rifling again. It seems the 700,s have button rifled barrels again. The only negative is the trigger. The new trigger whatever they call it. Lawyer junk!!! I took the adjustment screw right out and it still would not get under a 5 pound pull. So when you buy this gun figure in a 120 dollar timney trigger. Even with that this gun is a good buy. I highly recommend it. Remington must have recognized that their quality was really going down hill and stepped to the plate or I got lucky. But I also bought a 338 ultra mag XCR 11 and the same thing. Shoots very well but the trigger needed replacing. As long as you replace the trigger on these 700,s I highly recommend. Dave E
