Standard Buds situation, great price, shipping, etc. As far as the rifle, I love it. Great quality, great groupings, and just awesome looking. Way better in person.

Super nice guns for anyone wanting a nice long range setup. Good trigger, good reputation and nice finish on the metal. Gotta love the 5R rifling as well!

Great customer service from Bud's. As for the cost of this rifle it is going to be hard to beat. Great out of the box rifle.

Feature rich rifle capable of 1/2" or better groups for about $700, what's not to love.

After careful break-in, rifle shoots sub-moa out to 200 yards, for about 12 rounds, and then accuracy quickly goes haywire due to copper fouling. With a cleaning after 15 rounds I'll end up with a dozen bright blue patches. The accutrigger is good; light enough and breaks very cleanly. Accustock is too skimpy. Overall I'm not impressed.

Tough to beat a Savage... price is right, trigger is light and crisp and very accurate. Easily shoots 1 MOA or better at 100 yards. Have shot it as far as 800 yards with good results.

2nd gun ordered from buds and not surprisingly, awesome as usual. fast shipping and all arrived in perfect shape. now for the gun. this gun is AWSOME. first center fire savage I have owned and it definitely will not be the last. the accustock and trigger are awesome although the trigger on my gun will not go quite as low as the say it should but is light enough for me! ive only shot cheapy factory Winchester 150gr power points through it but was still able to hold a 3" group at 400yds off a bipod after a quick break in period. only shot 2.5 boxes through it but it is definitely a good shooter. I cant wait to get a good handload worked up with 168gr hornady a-max. this 5r rifling is much easier to clean than my other rifles and this barrel/stock combo is perfect. I didn't let the barrel cool much at all and it was almost too hot to hold onto for more than a few seconds and the POI didn't change at 400yds that I could tell. but that was only off a bipod with factory ammo. with fine tuned handloads and a good rest, you may be able to tell but overall, this rifle is AMAZING!!! didn't need it, but since the barrel is threaded and I think a suppressor on a 308 Is kinda dumb, I ordered a compensator to reduce muzzle flip. if its threaded, may as well use them for something besides a thread protector. if you are considering this rifle, consider no more and just do it! this is an AWSOME gun and you will not be disappointed. the magazine takes a bit to get used to loading but not too long, hopefully someone starts offering a 10round mag for this gun sometime soon for less than $100. buy it. you wont regret it!

Excellent gun for the money! I had mine Melonite treated by H&M. The 11.25 twist is suitable for up to 208gr BTHP and launches them around 2520-2600fps.

Superb rifle! Added a Nikon Prostaff scope and a Harris tripod, and shared it with a bunch of riflemen at the range last week. Everyone commented on show accurate it was and how smooth it shot. Thank you Bud, for your service and bringing great products to the gun community at a great price.

Great shooting Savage. Transaction with Bud's was smooth as is the action of this great shooting .308. Put a Bushnell Elite 4200 4-16 X 50mm on her and she shoot .750" 5 shoot group with factory loads. Moral of the story: great gun and great gun dealer!

5R Barrel is very nice, Cleans nice and easy. Best thing about a savage is that is has a short throat, You can load to magazine depth and be really close to the lands, Nice snug chamber too (recommend forster BR FL die). Replaced the bolt handle with the SSS handle from Tacticalworks.com which is highly recommended. Stock is very skinny and a horrible design for a rifle intended for long range prone type shooting. Gave it away and ordered a custom A5 from McMillan. Bolt release is on the trigger guard and is 4.4 spacing so you'll have to get a custom stock made for this design. Recommend XLR chassis, McMillan or Manners. Highly recommended for the 11.25 twist and 5R barrel, Plus the savage action is really smooth. With the A5 stock it is as accurate as my 700 with a custom barrel. Savage is killer imho, Ability to change bolt handles and barrels without a 3-6+ month gunsmith wait time makes a savage a standard must have for any precision shooters collection. Thanks Bud's.

This rifle is a dream. For the money you will not find a better gun. The features of this rifle beat any on the market. I love the detachable box magazine, it makes reloading a breeze. The accutrigger is great, and the accustock runs up there with the best. As for accuracy you can not beat this gun. With 175gr Sierra MatchKing bullets I can shoot .25 MOA all day if I do my part. This thing has a threaded barrel but honestly I have no intent on putting a muzzle brake on it. The butt pad is the best I have or ever have felt. You can shoot this thing all day as long as you have enough ammo.
