What can you say Really? It's a Ruger!! Always wanted a sp101 or gp100. I got this bad boy and of course its a beast. I updated the grips but thats it. It has a very long pull but thats it. It fires everytime. Its also very accurate. So 1 gun off my bucket list but was high on my list. never will you go wrong buying a Ruger! They are built to last and then some. I own more then just this Ruger and Everyone has never let me down, if something does go wrong their customer service/repair are A best warranty in the business!! If buds keeps the prices low then i will always order from buds!

Great concealable revolver. The hammerless prevents snags when I'm drawing. I have no complaints.

I should have bought one of these long before now. I always liked this pistol when I used to rent one at my indoor range. I like to work on my own guns. So I installed a spring kit, and did a polish job. Absolutely love it now.

This gun has the perfect heft to it, with a flawless fit and finish. It handles the 357 magnum just fine but the 38 plus p is my preferred ammo. Recoil on that is more manageable. The grip is excellent. The trigger is long, a tad heavy, but always predictable. Practice with it and the pull becomes second nature. It fits in the pocket easily with an Alabama holster and always goes bang which is why I prefer wheel guns. I trust my life to it with my Glock 26 as back up.

This is a great pistol, the sp101 is built very nice and handles the 357 ammo well. I have put some mags through it and it is actually quite controllable. Of course this makes shooting 38 specials and +p ammo really nice. I would recommend it for anyone, I am 5'3" and my husband is 6'5", handles amazing for both of us.

Perfect pocket rocket. This is my second SP101 as my first was snatched up by my grandmother about 20 years ago. Not the most accurate but neither is any small revolver. Across the room distances and up close are where she shines. A pocket full of dynamite for sure.

Fantastic weapon, just like the hammered version. Several hundred rounds down pipe with no problems. This particular gun had a rough trigger - I sent it to Ruger and had it back to me within a week. Excellent customer service. Trigger greatly improved by Ruger, though still not as good as I think it could be. About 95% of what I'd like it to be. May send it back one more time. Anyway, I still think its a 5-star gun, built like a tank, very attractive appearance, extremely accurate, very modest recoil, nice factor grip, very easy to maintain.

I received the firearm in perfect condition and cleaned it thoroughly. My only real complaint was the trigger pull but I expected that because I ordered a DAO firearm. After shooting a box of 38 Special and cleaning the firearm for a second time, I noticed what appeared to be a scratch. I was pretty mad at myself for awhile because I thought I put an idiot scratch on the firearm after cleaning it. I inspected the firearm further and noticed that both sides of the frame had a similar looking scratch that went from the grip to the front of the trigger guard. I decided to follow the "scratch" around the firearm. That's when I noticed there's a gap between the trigger guard and the upper portion of the frame containing the cylinder. I removed the grip and could clearly see the gap between the upper frame and trigger guard. Clearly, this was a problem with the manufacturing of the firearm but wasn't noticeable until after shooting. I am going to contact Ruger customer service and see if anything can be done. The firearm might need to be completely replaced though. Overall, this is a great firearm but I would not recommend it because of the build quality that I received.

Excellent Service From Buds. This Ruger is certainly strong and heavy but requires a little refinement to be comfortable to shoot. From the factory, the DAO trigger is around 14lbs. Nothing terrible for a EDC option if you were using it in defense, but a little heavy on the finger for multiple rounds at the range. I suggest a Wolff Trigger Spring kit and use the 10lb hammer spring as the 9lb had many complaints of light primer strikes. I would also suggest leaving the stock trigger return spring. End result after modification is a smoother trigger squeeze for range use but still perfectly practical as a DAO carry. Also would suggest Chigs Grip inserts for aesthetics, great finish and fit.

Pistol shoots hard and well. Looks great on the right side, but the fit and finish on the cylinder release side aren't up to what I've experienced as Ruger standards - and I do own several.. Specifically the "dimple" below the cylinder release button. VERY amateurish and rough looking. Not a show gun - but in the end, it's a cosmetic issue.

I love this gun. I’m a S&W guy, when it comes to revolvers, but after trying unsuccessfully for a few months to find a 640, I decided to give this gun a try. I’m very glad I did. It’s not as refined as a S&W but it’s an excellent shooter, and there is something comforting about that Ruger mass. It handles .357 loads better than any other revolver I've shot in this size. I’m still a S&W guy, but there will be more Ruger revolvers in my future,

I think Ruger makes the best revolver. the SP101 stainless steel 357 we purchased for the wife is the best CCW for her. She loves it .

I love my pocket beast! I'd been shopping for a small all-steel .357 revolver for concealed carry. I'd done some research and decided I wanted steel rather than alloy/polymer, and that I wanted a bobbed or shrouded hammer for both tactical and legal reasons. When this SP101 showed up at a good price, I didn't hesitate. Two days to ship to my FFL (where the same revolver costs $180 more, btw), Over the course of a week, I've put about 600 rounds through it, mostly bulk .38 Special, plus a fair number of +Ps and a few cylinders of full-power defensive .357. Sights were dead-on. I couldn't believe how accurately it shot. It gobbled up the 10-ring out to about 12 yards, where my groups started to open up a bit. It was still in the black even out to 20 yards. In .;38s, it strongly preferred the 158g bullet weights. For both +P and .357, it was 10-ring accurate with the 125g Remington Golden Sabers at combat distances. Standard velocity and +P .38s are a pleasure to shoot in it. .357s are pretty spicy but still manageable. I will probably wind up carrying the .357 Golden Sabers because they shot so well. Upsides: Rugged, reliable, accurate. Very, very accurate for a snub. Has enough weight and heft that recoil isn't really an issue. Downsides: The double-action trigger pull is heavy but it plateaus just before it breaks, and you learn to read it fairly readily. The sights are a black blade in a black notch, hard to pick up in low light. I think I'll put a night sight front blade on it.
