Been looking at this gun for quite some time the Taurus tracker 44 my local gun shop had one in stock but it was black and that's not the one I was wanting buds gun had the stainless satin that I was wanting for less than the one that was at my local gun shop thanks again Bud's guns looking forward to my next purchase

Gun was shipped fast. Package picked up at FFL dealer in perfect condition. The Taurus Tracker 44 mag is a great hand gun for the price paid when compared to other manufacturers. Excellent quality and should last a lifetime. This was my first purchase from Buds, and I am satisfied. Good job Buds!

Fit and finish your excellent. gun functions as advertised. It is a relatively soft shooter with 44 special. but it is a handful with full magnum loads.

This would definitely be my sidearm for hunt out west, not to heavy and not to big with a lot of punch. That being said, hang on tight to this thing, it's a handful to shoot, at least for me.

I was a little disappointed to discover that Taurus sells this in a cardboard box, rather than a pistol case like every other handgun I have purchased over the last decade or so, but that was easily resolved after a quick browse through Amazon. The Tracker ships with a large rubber cover over the rear sight, that comes down the sides of the frame. When I removed that cover I found easily visible inconsistencies in the finish on both sides - more obvious than they seem in the pictures. I initially thought these would disappear with cleaning, but they appear to be permanent blemishes. I was also surprised to see that it is not really a 4-inch barrel...it's more like a 3-inch barrel with a 1-inch long over-bored (about .45 caliber) section at the end where the porting is. I can't help wondering what effect this has on the stability of the projectile as it exits the barrel. I can't really say how much help that porting is in reducing muzzle flip, but it certainly does produce some spectacular pyrotechnics. On the other hand, I have seen some unflattering reviews about Taurus' "ribber" grips. The ones on this example seem to be of an updated design, where the ribs do not wrap all the way around the grip, and I find them quite workable. All in all it is a nice piece of work, and compact for a .44.

This is a beast! Beautiful and not as much recoil as you would think with a 45. Would recommend.

I love this gun, it fills good in the hand and a great shooter, i bought this gun to carry on my backpacking trips, the Taurus tracker in 44 magnum is a great choice for my backpacking adventures out west and is powerful enough to handle any predators that I might encounter Thanks Buds, you guys are amazing.

Great hand cannon at a reasonable price. If you can't deal with your situation with 5 rounds of 44 mag, then that 6th round isn't going to matter anyway. Great shopping experience with Bud's as usual. My FFL had my gun in 3 days. The Taurus is accurate, and recoil is managed well, but still formidable. The Tracker 44 is big, but light enough to carry on your hip all day. Quality and finish are excellent for the price. I've had no issues, and would highly recommend this Taurus Tracker 44 and Bud's Gun Shop.

Love this revolver. I wanted it for my back country travels in the nearby wilderness. Accurate out of the box. I order from Buds for good reason.

Taurus Tracker Model 44 Stainless 44mag Revolver, I've always wanted a 44 mag, after seeing Dirty Harry movies. Well as far as I care, its a awesome gun. Loud and Kicks but I can hit a target to 50 feet.

I have had this gun for a few years now and I carry it every time I go into the wilderness (Which is fairly often) It has climbed mountains and gotten rained on snowed on and had plenty of practice rounds put through it…… It’s scratched up and looks as worn as it should at this point…… Oh, and with 8 port hikes it kicks less than any of my .357’s do…… Buy this gun!

The perfection in one piece Taurus as always in its good prices and in its good products was no exception with the 44 magnum.

This thing is awesome! I also have a 5 1/2 inch Single action in 44 magnum. the Single action weighs about 10 ounces more than the Tracker, but is more punishing to shoot. The Tracker's ported barrel and expansion chamber really do reduce felt recoil. Comparing the two handguns, the Tracker pushes back under recoil, like an Ar 10, while the Single action's muzzle rises like a shotgun. This comes at the expense of velocity, as the Tracker's effective barrel length is a little more than 3 inches. What a blast! (pun intended) Seriously, the Tracker is controllable in fast (for a 44 magnum) double action fire.

This gun has a good price and the caliber I wanted. When I shot it for the first time after about 30 rounds it started malfunction. I sent it to Taurus and they sent it back within a few weeks time and has not had an issue since. I bought this gun as a woods carry for bears and other predators, but lost my confidence from the malfunction. It's been two years without a failure, and my everyday carry is a Taurus, so I am inclined to put it to use this summer/fall with the intended purpose. Things to consider are that it has 5 rounds, not 6, and the 4" barrel is actually 3" due to the ports. Otherwise great price, and good ergonomics. If you can't justify the cost of a Ruger or S&W, the Taurus will do the job nicely.

Sturdy and fairly accurate for what it is the Taurus M17 Tracker is a good fun gun. I would not recommend shooting more than a few cylinders through it at a time as the lightweight of the revolver combined with the powerful 44 Magnum cartridge makes for an unfavorable shooting experience after about 20 rounds. I can see this being useful for backpacking or camping if one needed to chase off bears and the like. Other than that it is a fun weapon to use at the range.
