Great little gun! This gun looks amazing for how old it is and I can see why so many people like it. The reason I give it an ok rating is because mine came with a broken safety/decocker. I intended to use this as a concealed carry occasionally so this feature is important to me. I can fire it for fun but can't do what intended to use it for. Also the broken part for it is very hard to find and see people have bought em up quick when it is available. I called Buds to let them know but I have to ship it out and my tax does not get refunded. Overall nice gun just wish it all worked good

I actually tried writing my review about an hour earlier but site wouldn`t let me, advising I hadn`t purchased it. I contacted BUDS on the same link and this was a quick-fix, especially on a sunday! Now I can review: Gun came just as described. Wasn`t sure initially buy a gun roughly 45 yrs old(mine manuf. 1972), but I`ve had so many great gun purchases from BUDS and their customer reviews are generally "spot-on." Advertised Good-VeryGood condition, but mine is almost like NEW! Bluing nice, polished, no rust or dings. No (notable) holster wear and the barrel is clean and shiney. Feels great, much like my Walther PPK in weight and feel. Heavier than most similiar sized .380`s but its solid and really well-made, not polymer-type plastic or zinc-alloy here---just solid all metal consruction! Shoots awesome for what it is! Great in every regard EXCEPT its "200 lb" (sure feels like it!) dble-action trigger pull! Even makes my terribly heavy dble-action pull, Walther PPKS (other Walther) feel "light!" My girlfriend could barely pull dble-action, asking me if it was "broken?" Single- action however was stellar! Absolutley crisp and light, nothing like its dbl-action pull at all. Even with its tiny sights this little Makarev is amazingly accurate. Putting a 7"x7" box at 65 yards on a "sand-Mtn" allows me to see where my shots were hitting watching the sand jump up. I hit the box a MINIMUM of 1 out of 5 shots, and 3 out of 5 shots once! Probably will paint the front post white. I would give this gun a 4.5 out of 5, only because of the crazy-heavy dble action trigger! But since the gun excels so much everywhere else, especially for its low price, and there are no half-point stars, I got to give it a 5-star rating! I note(as of today, 4/23/17) this gun has a perfect 5-star review from EVERY customer, and I don`t want to be the one to ruin it! Great gun, great price, great service---thats why BUDS is my #1 source for ALL things "guns."

First off, Bud's was great as usual, gun was at my FFL 4 days after I ordered it and Bud's had the best price I could find online. As for the gun itself, it's a very nice milsurp pistol, mine was manufactured in 1968 and still looked to be in excellent condition, with very little signs of use. Gun functioned flawlessly through 10 magazines run through the gun before I did anything else to it. Took home and disassembled and cleaned aS I usually do with used guns and found internals in excellent condition as well. Gun has a great single action trigger pull but the double action pull is horrendous, my pull gauge maxed out on the trigger so it's got more than a 25 lb pull and it feels like it ....... it's really the only down side but can be easily fixed withe a $4 replacement 18 lb hammer spring which made this already fantastic little pistol, perfect. If u want something combat and law enforcement proven for decades and don't want to spend a lot of money, or if u just want a well made milsurp pistol, either way this is a good choice.

1)buds was super fast in shipping. It was here in 3 days 2)picked the gun up its all steel its not light. The weight is perfect. 3) came with 2 mags cleaning rod and holster. Love the holster wore it to the range 4) loading mags one felt gritty other looked to be brand new 5) 1975 model gun slight holster wear loved the way it fits in my hand 6) some say it has heavy recoil but my main gun is a 10mm so I didn't notice 7) I tend to grip high and I got slide bit and bled all over it. It was worth it cause it was accurate as hell at 7 yards. I tried to adjust my grip not to get slide bite but I wasn't as accurate. 8) the gritty mag has two ftf on the first mag and that was it she ran 100 rounds clean after that. Buy it! don't let these get away. It's so small perfect ccw gun 9x18 is a fun round.

I am a Team Buds member and a repeat customer at Bud's. When I purchased this P-64, I trusted Bud's for their accurate description of the pistol, which is used. Bud's was conservative in their description and, when I received the gun, I was extremely happy because it's condition surpassed what I had expected. It is in good mechanical shape and the appearance is great! These P-64's can be hard to find in really nice condition and Bud's, of course, came through again! I just can't thank Bud's enough for a quality product at a great price! Why anyone would take a chance on a used piece from another dealer is beyond me...go with a proven solid source that deals fairly...BUD'S!

The weapon shoot well. No miss fires. The reason for four out of five is when I shoot, the trigger guard hurts the knuckle of the finger underneath the guard.

Very good and more accurate than expected. I do not suggest this for new shooters. It is very snappy amd easy get slide bite. I have ordered an aftermarket grip for it to address these issues. Better shape than expected. Glad I bought it, I may buy another.

The gun runs great. I bought the 15# hammer spring and installed that. One of the mags is bad. It feeds the round at an odd angle and causes it to jam. Went back to the other mag and it runs flawlessly. Minor wear on the bluing but in very nice used condition.

My second gun from Buds, and like the first time ordering/delivery was easy and fast, couldn't ask for better. The gun had some significant holster wear, which was not unexpected. Bud's was honest about that, and I prefer guns with a little "character". Compared to the Bulgarian "Mak" the P64 is slightly smaller, but the mag extension helps hold your pinkey on the grips.Like others have said, it has significant felt recoil. I would NOT recommend it for a first gun for carry purposes. Now if you are an experienced shooter it is no problem, it is going to be my "truck gun" in the older pickup. I did have a couple failure to feeds (maybe 1 in 30) but that is with the super cheap Tula steel ammo. With brass or nickle defense ammo I am sure it would be perfect. If you think you are going to fire the first round in double action, forget it. The trigger pull to do that is insane. In semi auto mode though the trigger is quite nice. I keep mine with a round in the chamber but the safety on and the hammer down (it is blocked by the safety). So all I need to do is flip the safety and thumb cock the hammer - it is easy. Finally a word of advice. I don't know what all the USA sends to Poland in terms of military support but they could use a dozen shipping containers of Gun Flush.....:) It took about 1/3 can just to get it coming out somewhat clean. The first few sprays the return fluid looked like ink. So clean it first. There is no cosmo. Look on Utube about how to break it down, it is very simple, though you do need some hand strength. These guns were made for big potato fed Polish dudes like me......:)

This pistol is very nice and was a great price. I plan to go out and shoot it this weekend if the weather holds off. Buds did a good job communicating the stages of processing and I had my P64 in hand within a week,

Got my pistol and took it to the range put 50 rounds through it, gun shoots great and straight but it does have a good bark in the recoil got the #18 hammer spring and the #20 recoil spring from wolfs www.gunsprings.com and they made a big difference in the trigger pull about half now and calm down the bark in the recoil great little gun plan on carrying this little baby with hollow points, and Buds great Job again as always,, "Ill be back"

I bought two of these. Love them. One has a little more wear than the other, but they were both in pretty good condition considering their age. They run flawlessly. They are a a little "snappy", but not too bad. If you are shooting a lot it will start to irritate the webbing between your thumb and trigger finger.

The P64 is one of the best bang for the buck CCW pistol on the market, it's the same size as a Glock 43. The DA trigger is ridiculously heavy, but the SA is dream! I recommend this pistol to anyone who is looking for a great gun on a budget, or classic all metal pistol.

The pistol looks like a PPK, but you can't call it a PPK. My P-64 arrived in good condition and with a holster and two magazines. It is made well, but shows its age. The holster I got with it shows its age too, but will probably clean up very well with some saddle soap. This pistol is not for novices and takes some time get used to, but is an interesting piece of firearms history. I plan on replacing the hammer spring to lighen the trigger pull when firing in double action because the factory spring makes double action shooting crazy hard. The single action trigger pull is great. I can't wait to go shooting, and after doing the spring upgrades I plan to carry my P-64.

The pistol shipped quickly and is in excellent condition. I've seen them online with a fair amount of wear, but mine only had slight wear on the muzzle. Havent had a chance to take it to the range get, but so far I am extremely happy with my purchase

Got my p64 for from my FFL on the 24th cosmetically very nice some light holster wear. Came with 2/6 round magazines and a holste and cleaning rod very nice condition. Took it to the range have put 50 rounds of Tulammo through it no problems. Very accurate shooting handgun I would definitely recommend getting one if you're considering it. Thanks buds for very fast and great transaction!

Very clean gun. Some light wear at front from holstering. This little gun defines "snappy". I ordered a 22# recoil spring and a 18# hammer spring as recommended by sootch00. Can't wait to do a little gunsmithing to tame this little beast. Plan on getting the finish restored and some rosewood grips. This will be my formal attire ccw........or maybe my next purchase. a Bulgarian Mak. I got the Eastern European pistol bug..love that walther ppk look.
