This was a great price for this rifle. The M44 Mosin Nagant carbine rifles are becoming more and more rare, if you can find one under $300 -$400 snap it up. This rifle came in excellent shape with just a few nicks and scratches on the stock. And all the serial numbers matched. This is a fun rifle to shoot and very accurate with the iron sites. It's a heavy rifle, very similar in weight to its older brother the M91-30, just a bit shorter. Buds Gun Shop makes it really easy to order and have shipped to your local FFL dealer, and Bud's prices are always very competitive and sometimes just overall unbeatable.

Seems to be a good gun for the money. Had an issue with the bolt but Buds took care of it.

Got to the range yesterday after a six month delay. As advertised my M 44 was excellent. It operated flawlessly. Thank you BUDS for selling an excellent rifle. No problems whatsoever. BUDS service was great. Thanks.

got my m44 today and must say it came better than i thought. bolt action is much smoother than m 91/30. minor scratches in the stock but what do you expect from a 70 yr old rifle. if i was going to hunt with it i would leave it alone. this gun is going to be refinshed and scratches sanded out, placed on my office wall. at a price point of around $200.00 dollars the only one that needs to be happy is me!

what I am most impressed with is the lack of rust, and also the way the bolt assembly fits and works smoothly. the serial number on the bolt matches, the serial number on the rifle, I am speaking of course of the Russian serial numbers, not the new one that it was stamped with, our precious govt dont trust us one bit it seems like. I have not shot it, but I am looking forward to doing so, I am not going to alter this rifle, in anyway but I have ordered an older one from buds and plan on taking it apart and giving it new life, with a Archangel AA0130, and if need be, I will have it reblued, now before you give me grief about the value of the gun dropping due to getting it blued, please remember that it is only an 89 dollar rifle. So, let me play with it! it is not a berretta, but for something as old as the M44, Id say it is well made, and I am looking forward to putting many round down range with it! OH, it is excellent condition for being a hundred years old, (actually less, way less as this was probably made in 1944) but you can tell it has seen some careless handling, that does happen from time to time in war. or at your mother in laws home.

Buds shipped the rifle very quickly. The rifle is listed as being in "Excellent" condition, and for a surplus military rifle manufactured over seventy years ago, it truly is in excellent condition.The finish isn't perfect and the stock has scratches but the rifle shoots like a dream. This is the least expensive firearms I've purchased since the 1980's but easily the most fun to shoot.

First off, let me be clear that I wouldn't rate this rifle as "excellent" condition. The rifle was in "Good" to "very good condition". It was a 1944 Tula, and it has seen some use (as one would expect of a WWII rifle), but is a nice 1944 Tula, with some really nice cartouches, and stamps. I like the rifle. The stock has some pretty good gouges, and shows plenty of character. The bore is excellent, and overall I'm very satisfied with the rifle, other than the grading. I'm fine with a Good or Very Good rifle, and I'd be even happier if I was charged that rate when I order. Buds shipping was quick, as usual. The packaging was great. I do appreciate the free shipping, too. My FFL Dealer, Hunt 605 LLC. is awesome. The first M44 was NOT in excellent condition. The two wooden stock pieces were completely different colors (one red, one blond) and the stock itself was gouged pretty bad on both sides. The numbers didn't match (which I know wasn't promised anyway). I had the gun sent back (shipping paid by Bud's) and voiced my complaint. Within a week the second M44 arrived and it is in VERY GOOD CONDITION. Matching numbers all around and the wood is in good shape with a few small scratches. There is some minor pitting on the bayonet lug, but that's it. I am happy. Thank you, Bud's.

This lot is not in "excellent" condition. I would rate as "good". All parts matched except for the riffle butt. A few decent gouges in the stock with an overall discolored finish. I haven't broken it down to clean, but all the parts seem in decent shape. I recently purchased the 91/30 Mosin rated as "very good" and it was in much much better shape than this unit. As noted though, Buds is not responsible for surplus ratings. Overall I am satisfied with the product.

This was my first experience ordering from Buds. I ordered the item on late Monday evening and it arrived Friday at noon. When I saw the packaging (bubble wrap and no box, looks like shipper had lost it along the way) I was worried that my m44 would be damaged. But upon inspection, I could not be happier! All matching, non counterbore and covered in cosmoline. I understand these could be hit or miss but this one looks like it was never even fired. By far the best mosin in my collection, smoothest bolt, best finish and a blast to shoot. I will do business with Buds again. Get them while you can!

Very impressed with the condition of this rifle. Much better condition than I had expected, and I highly recommend buying one while you can. She's a beauty!!

Ordered on a Wednesday, picked up rifle on Friday. Great, fast shipping. Gun itself is quality, all matching parts except the magazine floorplate which is a force match. Bolt is sticky due to cosmoline, will need to thoroughly clean the rifle when I get time. Would not rate as "Excellent" but would say the rifle is "Very Good" based on condition. No counterbore. Bayonet is in such fine condition it h as to be refinished or reworked. Stock is a little rough, with a few gouges. All in all I'm satisfied and would purchase through Bud's again.

Got the mosin fairly quick, truly have to thanks the buds team. all the serial # match, the mosin was is a very good condition it had a couple of scraps and dents on the stock but nothing that i was not expecting, there is not as much cosmoline as i thought it would .... would be cleaning it and going to the range soon... i would certainly buy from buds again.. thanks guys

Very nice condition. Came complete with cleaning rod and kit. Bolt not a matching number to rest of gun. Quality and value far exceeds that of the Chinese 53 I bought from Buds. Barrel was full of Cosmoline. Cleaning took a bit, but nothing unexpected. This is well the worth the minimal cost of the gun. In my opinion, a very good deal; inexpensive, good firearm, no issue transaction.

I love this rifle! It's not "excellent condition" but it is very good. It didn't really have much cosmoline on it, the barrel is pristine without a counter bore. The stock has a handful of light scratches that wouldn't take much effort to fix, there is a pretty decent gouge is the stock where the bayonet tip folds back, that's why I can't call it excellent condition. She is so much fun to shoot, has a good kick to her, my wife is afraid to shoot it until I put a butt pad on. Svetlana (yes I named my rifle) shoots to left a bit but that was expected after doing my research and finding out these were sighted in with the bayonet out. I would recommend this rifle unless you're scared of recoil. Happy shooting and stay safe. :)

I understand that Buds does not rate these rifles and they sell them as specified by Century. I just cannot understand how anyone could rate this rifle as "Excellent." I would give it a "Very Good" rating. I am not unhappy. Now, I just need to get her de-greased and see how she shoots.

Excellent buy! Some minor nicks and dings on the stock, but the bore looks clean and bright like a new production barrel (of course, it isn't), with no sign of much usage at all. Bolt cycles smoothly, everything accounted for and works well so far. Will be taking out to the range this spring. Very satisfied with Bud's. Ordered on Monday, arrived at FFL on Wednesday!

I was a little nervous buying a Mosin Nagant online, because you never know what you are actually going to get as far as condition goes. Luckily, my rifle arrived in great shape. No apparent shipping damage. The stock has a few dings, but nothing not expected from a surplus rifle. I'd say it's in "excellent" condition as advertised. All metal parts are in pristine condition. I don't think my rifle has been fired much, maybe only at the factory. The bore shows no signs of wear. I'd recommend to anyone looking for an M44 to purchase from Bud's.

Received a 1945 HEX! Shipped fast, packed tight. The rifle looks brand new. The stock, bluing, and rifling look great. No counterbore. Had a layer of cosmoline but that's normal. Way way better than I was expecting. This thing truly is in excellent condition. It was missing a screw but that not buds guns fault. Was able to fine a new on online for $5. As soon as wife will let me, I will definitely be ordering another one. Great buy!

Received the M44 in a reasonable amount of time. Inspected the M44 at the FFL dealer and thought it was in execellent condition as advertised. However after getting it home I tried to chamber a round to check the bolt function and was unable to close the bolt. Upon inspection discovered a problem with the extractor on the bolt. Called Buds and explained the problem. Representative was very helpful and received approval from management to replace the bolt. Received the replacement bolt today and inserted into the M44. Check head space and fireing pin depth and all pass inspection. Was able to chamber a round and close the bolt without any issues. I would recommend purchasing the Russian M44 Mosin Nagant from Buds. I would also recommend Buds, their customer service is outstanding!!

Hard to find at this price in California now days. This rifle is close as you get to perfect all # match and it is as describe. It is packed loosely so some of the finish on the stock has some wear in spots. This rifle is in excellent condition very happy with this purchase.
