My eyes got a little watery when I picked up my new new 308. I added a scope, bi-pods and a infadel sticker. I like killing neutra rats with it. It makes minced meat out of them. The rifle was everything I expected, and nobody could beat Buds price. Thanks for your business Buds Guns. I highly recommend them to all fellow gun lovers.

Remington 700 XCR Tactical. Best Tactical rifle ever. I searched for the rifle all around and finally found one at BudsGunShop. I asked them a couple of questions, which they promptly answered. The price was in order with the specifications (compared with other stores). I got the rifle within 3 days (Online transaction with an FFL in TEXAS) I’m happy with the purchase, now only waiting for the scope, rings, and rail in order to go to the range to try it. It’s my first rifle, so I hope I made a good decision buying it. It’s a 3K with all the accessories, and sometimes I think its too much to start with, but… why not? As per Remingnton’s serial Manufacturing date was January 2014 The only thing not clear is that this rifle had a trigger RECALL last year, and so far its unclear if the trigger was fixed or not.

Awesome gun. XCR (extreme condition rifle). Just make sure it doesn't have a smooth trigger. Remington is recalling all their X-Mark Pro triggers. Mine is ribbed so its all good. I love this gun.

This review is NOT by Chip Porter, who is my transferring FFL. I've now put several hundred rounds of varying weights and brands through this rifle and have found the 168gr SMKs by Federal and Hornady's TAP FPD in 168gr shoot under 0.5" at 100yds. The 168gr AMAXs are decent, too. I have multiple 3-5 shot groups under the 0.5" mark and am very pleased with this rifle. It's a bench rest gun for me, given the barrel is 26", but I love it and it shoots right there with the $3k guns. My FFL stated the difference between these 700s and the custom guns is that the high dollar guns will shoot accurately much longer than this rifle. Only time will tell. Another decent ammo is American Eagles M1 Match 168gr OTMs. For the money, I'll take 0.5" groups any day. For sniping or competing, I have to recommend Hornady's TAP FPDs. I just couldn't hold the rifle still enough for that one hole group. My only complaint is the rifle has a narrow appetite for shooting ammo - 168gr are best and 175gr are decent. I recommend buying this rifle, but also take a look at the Target Tactical with the 5r rifling for a few hundred more or even the stainless "Milspec," which I own also. The Target Tactical (benchrest) and Milspec 22" (carryable) could easily hang with those very high dollar rifles which are usually built on 700 actions anyway. I also imagine this rifle would be best at very long distances given the 26" barrel. Oh, and I have found this rifle is very easy to clean with the TryNyte coating.
