This is my 3rd colt. Fit and finish is excellent. The only issue, which is an easy fix, is the thumb safety is a little mushy when you engage. The pistol is beautiful. Buds is extremely reliable to deal with. I don’t believe I would ever buy online from anyone else, especially since they will price match. My only complaint, which is not a deal breaker, is when you pay by echeck the process is slow, especially when your excited to get your firearm. Nonetheless, buds is fantastic. Would never consider anything but a colt when it comes to 1911’s.

Just got the gun in today, finally. This is my second purchase from Buds and once again I am very pleased. I can honestly say that all of my future firearm purchases will be from Buds, as no one can beat there prices and customer service. Anyways, this is my first COLT 1911 Rail Gun, and wow...I am very happy with this purchase. This Colt looks much better in person than it does on buds website. Buds should start uploading high resolution pictures of the firearms they are selling, which will better represent the product. I have not fired this pistol yet, but the fit and finish are better than I expected. I have not found any quality control issues or defects, but these issues sometimes do not surface until you fire the weapon. Overall, I did a lot of research before buying a 1911 because so many companies are making them these days. Bottom line is you will pay a premium for a Colt, but you also get what you pay for. Colt uses high quality material when making their 1911's and the craftsmanship can be seen by just holding the pistol and working the slide, pulling the trigger, etc. Remember, Colt has been making 1911's for a long time and they know what they are doing. After I take this pistol to the range a few times, I will come back and write another review.

First of all, I can't say enough about Bud's ability to get the product to the destination of choice so fast! Secondly, this is the second gun i have purchased from Bud's and both guns have arrived with no issues to complain about! if you are looking for that 1911 look no further! This gun is awesome! The rails give the option of a light and laser which i will purchase soon! Thanks again Bud's for a great pistol buying experience!!

Buds service as always was the best all around! I guess I expected more from Colt & for a gun that was a little over $1,000.00 bucks. Not the same shooting experience as m 1911 Springfield that's for sure. Waited a long time to own a 1911 Colt, so now I do, but if I had to do it again I would have stuck with Springfield. This Colt shot low to the left right out of the box (after detailed cleaning) @ 15yards. Springfield 1911, very nice 5 inch group, first time every time! Giving my Colt experience or lack of it a five star rating to be fair I have to run more rounds through her to be fair to my Colt.

I've had this gun for about two months now. Everything has been smooth. Hasn't had any malfunctions. It has been a perfect gun. This is going to be a gun you will keep forever. Do not hesitate to buy from buds. It was my first purchase and they ship fast and I didn't have to pay taxes which saves me money. Great buy will definitely do business with buds again.

Shipping was very fast and the gun is actually a lot nicer than I had anticipated it being. The gun was everything I wanted and there wasn't a scratch on it so 5 stars to Buds but the gun was absolutely filthy when I took it apart to inspect it.

Buds is awesome this is my second purchase from buds this year im a customer for life thanks to there great service. I traded my colt 1911 xse combat commander for this colt rail gun all can say is wow best trade I ever made this gun is beautiful the pictures on buds doesn't give the gun any justice I have put about 60 rounds thru it so far with out a problem it shoots smooth and very accurate I love this gun she's definitely a keeper

Let me start with a good word about Bud's Customer Service Representative. I wish I could remember his name because he was outstanding. Bud's had a price reduction on this gun just a couple of hours after I made my order. All it took was a phone call to the customer rep and I received the lower price. This is a company that treats their customers right, thanks Bud's Gun Shop. The Colt Rail Gun I received was flawless as far as I could tell. This gun is dead on accurate and will knock the center out of a bulls eye at 25 yards. The finish is Colt beautiful but I do have one bone to pick. Why did Colt decide to stop using their trademark medallion grips on all but a few guns? After I replaced the boring stock grips with a set of Factory Colt Silver Medallion Rosewood Grips the gun looks like what you would expect from Colt. I have mounted a laser to the rail and it just adds an additional level of cool. To all the Colt haters out there, maybe you should take a second look. Colt just raised the bar...

Alright here it is..... I am happy to have welcomed a new safe queen. This really my first 1911, and I will say the gun is flawless... Not a scratch on it. Of course it is not a 3k 1911, but it is everything I expected. The gun came enclosed in an untouched plastic bag/wrap (I have a pet-peeve about buying display guns).

I have carried a small 1911 for a while (New Agent) but wanted a full-sized for target shooting and wanted to stick with Colt as they are a customer of mine. Bud's got the gun to my FFL within the specified time and I've now, along with my 15 year-old daughter, put about 400 rounds through it. The rounds were a mix of 230 gr. Winchester and 185 gr. Remington and in those 400 rounds we had one miss-feed on the ramp. The gun is very nicely balanced and has cut my 20 ft grouping of the New Agent in half. Not cheap, but a great gun.

When the pistol arrived everything felt really gritty. The trigger is a little squishy with the series 80 and travel was a bit gritty. It also felt like the hammer hooks were engaging asymmetrically with a little hop before the trigger broke. The ambi safety didn't really want to work quite right and was really rough and difficult to disengage left-handed. Even the frame felt like it was covered with some fine sand or something. I did a total dis-assembly and sprayed everything down with Eezox and cleaned the hell out of everything. I worked the safety up and down a few dozen times, and now the whole pistol is almost perfect. Instead of gritty, the frame just feels a little coarse and firm to grip. It still has the squishy feel of the Series 80 parts moving the firing pin block. A for sharp edges, I don't notice anything bad on the slide. The bottom of the trigger guard is fine. The front of the mag well is pretty sharp. The rail cuts are a little sharp, but more of a hazard for holsters than hands. It has a "National Match" barrel on it, which is beautiful. There is some noticeable play in the slide-to-frame fit, but nothing like in my pre WWI GI M1911 that rattles when it shakes. Barrel bushing is snug, and there's no noticeable play when locked up, but easily removed without a wrench. The mag release is very stiff and a little short. Probably going to need to switch it out for an extended one for my short thumbs. Comparing this to my SA Mil-Spec I don't think I'll ever buy another Springfield pistol. The internal machining on the Colt is perfect. The insides of the SA look like it was finished off with a rock. Be prepared for Bud's slooooow order processing. Definitely not for instant gratification types like me. Ordered on the 1st and it was delivered to my LGS on the 13th (just as I was checking in to the ED to get my appendix out!) and I picked it up on the 14th. LGS is surprised at how Bud's is selling guns at cost. Also, Buds dropped the price the day after I ordered it, and gave me credit for the price difference, which is nice and will get me a free magazine. Still need to take it out and shoot it, but my belly still hurts from surgery, so I'm putting it off for a day or two. Overall, great pistol, good service, will definitely recommend Bud's and Colt to friends, and will definitely order from here again in the future.

Overall, I'm pleased with the purchase. Had trouble with the delivery address, but Bud's did a good job getting it fixed. Upon opening I noticed 4 hair line scratches on the slide. I plan on using the gun, so it will eventually have normal wear and tear, so the scratches it has out of the box don't bug me to bad. Other than that, I'm pretty happy with the Colt. The new roll marks look great and the rail just sweetens the Colt!!!!
