As a long time fan of Savage products (I even bought a Savage Straight Eight loading press), I have to say that this rifle is like every other Savage that I have owned: it is accurate. As a fan of walnut and polished blued steel, I am not impressed. My rifle shoots every thing that I have fired into 1" to 1 1/2' groups with boring consistency. That being said, Dear Lord, please tell the powers that be at Savage, that a limited run of Savage 99's would be snapped up in a heartbeat.

I have put a few hundred rounds through this now and it has never had any malfunctions.

I mounted and Nikon 3x9x40 scope, and sighted in. Very accurate, considering doing some trigger work.
