junk, just junk. do not take the grips off. the bushings may come out too. try getting the screw out of the bushing when that happens. bushings and screws are a bastard size. nothing standard fits. trigger terrible. does not shoot to point of aim. 6 inches low at 25 feet. it is also a jamomatic. I can not wait to dump this thing. should have paid the extra 50 bucks for the American classic. buyer beware. 5 reviews. 3 give 5 stars. 2 gives 1 star. luck of the draw here. you feeling lucky ?

This 1911 is basically a Girsan that's been rebranded as a Chiappa from what I can tell. That is in no way a bad thing either. I own many Turkish made 1911's including a couple Girsan and a few Tisas and for the price you cannot really beat the Turkish made 1911 and this Chiappa version of the Girsan for under $400 bucks is no exception (I paid $386 with the make an offer feature a few months ago). The only thing I would say could be a complaint is that the picture is a little misleading. The picture shows a railed frame but in reality the frame does not have a built in rail it has been drilled and tapped to except a screw on rail. The rail does come with the gun but its plastic and makes the gun look cheap so I would recommend just leaving it off. If you want a true railed 1911 just get the Girsan. I have run lots of different ammo through it without any issues at all. It came with 2 8 round ACT mags which is a plus when talking about an entry level priced 1911. Both mags worked 100% as well as the aftermarket mags I used. If you are looking for a nice, well-made, entry level 1911 that you can take straight to the range and fire away or one you can build on this is a great one to start with. Once again Buds came through with a great product at a great price and as always great service.

First off, it's a good looking pistol. But that's about it. Buds was great. Fast service. Five stars. But as for the pistol. Not so much. Opened the box and found that front site was laying in the bag. Had to put it back on. And also they put a high cap 9mm magazine in there instead of the second 1911 mag that it's supp to come with it. So I took t to the range. Three jams in the first 50 rounds. Cleaning and firing may help break it in hopefully. If you can hit the target . It shoots 9 inches low and 6 inches to the left. I'm either going to trade it for a Highpoint or scrap it. Can't decide. Buy a Rock Island seriously .

For quick reference, I own Glock, Walther, CZ, Browning, etc., but this is my first 1911 as well as my first .45. I was very anxious to write this review as there are currently no others on this seemingly 'obscure' pistol. To set a few things straight, as far as I can tell Chiappa did NOT go through with their delayed blowback design that they had originally planned for this gun. It is a traditional single action, short recoil firearm. Also, I bought this gun under the impression that the firearm was either made in Italy (Chiappa is based in Italy) and imported to the states, or just made in the states altogether. It isn't. Girsan makes this firearm for Chiappa and then they import it from Turkey. I don't know what this firearm shares with the Girsan 1911s as far as parts, but I would assume they are somewhat similar. The frame, slide, trigger, and hammer look to be almost identical to their 'premium' models in pictures, although I prefer the slide serrations on the Chiappa over the Girsan pistols. The manual does mention something about the Chiappa firing mechanism, so maybe they do supply the internals? I don't know. So that's it for the 'bad', or just misleading I guess. That being said, the Turks DO know how to make a firearm, because the pistol itself is fantastic. Girsan supposedly makes firearms for the Turkish military, so I had high expectations. The fit is fantastic, and the finish seems durable enough. Unlike the Girsan pistols, this 1911 comes with fiber optics front and rear as well as some very pretty olive wood grips. The pictures on this website do not do it justice. It is drilled and tapped for a rail which came with the gun, but no screws to attach it with... weird. It also comes with two 8 round magazines. At the range, I pumped 100 rounds of the ever dirty Winchester White Box through it with ZERO hiccups. I didn't even clean the thing when I got it. The inherently finicky nature of these guns was one of the main things keeping me from buying a 1911, but needless to say I am extremely happy with this purchase. You will be hard-pressed to find a better 1911 at this price point, and there is no way you could find one with as many features. The only thing it lacks is ambi-safeties. This gun is a legitimate A+ buy.
