Great firearm, and as usual Bud’s great service!

I really love this gun. I’ve had it now for 8 years and it has never misfired even with lower grade ammo. It’s well made and very happy with the purchase as I really bought it on a whim after seeing on Buds. Replaced the grip with the Hogue and recently bought a brace that can easily be taken off. Also,I have a 60 round barrel mag that makes shooting a bit more fun and has the gun looking good. Buds Gun Shop made the transaction easy.

I really enjoyed shooting this once I added a stabilizer brace. I've also replaced the hard plastic pistol grip with a more comfortable Hogue grip. I love the fact that I can use standard AR mags. Only 30 rounds were fired, but 3 failed to eject. This could be due to cheap ammo (Wolf). Overall, I like the weapon.

a nicely made, and completely reliable rifle caliber pistol. It is a 5.56/223 caliber weapon, and it is a fireball thrower! It uses STANAG AR type magazines. It cycles all the ammo you can get in this country; steel case, brass, all of it. It is superior to most other Yugo AK models, in that the factory builds 5.56 weapons with chromed barrels and the best components. It will take standard AK pistol grips, and Yugoslav dimension forward hand-guards. The factory trigger is very good for an AK type weapon. Sights are pretty rudimentary, but indicative of the close quarter intended use. A solid choice in the rifle caliber pistol class.

OK folks, I have had this for awhile and have shot a few hundred rounds and I just have to say, WOW! Has never jammed and it is so fast you don't need selective fire at all. I would like to have side holsters so I could open carry 2. A real joy to shoot.

Very Loud. accuracy is on par. mag well needs custom work to be flawless. reliable firearm. not ideal for sound suppression. trigger needs to be replaced for trigger snobs.

Flawless in everyway. This thing chews up all ammo and is fairly accurate for being a short barrel. Sad to say this is way more dependable vs ar pistol. And yes I own many ar pistols. God bless and keep Your barrel warm ,)

Excellent firearm. I am currently in the process of modifying mine. My M85 has never let me down since purchase and I have fed through it all sorts of rounds. This machine does not JAM. Thanks #Buds

Very accurate AK pistol..... Very little recoil... For the price you can't beat it.

OK, to be fair I have yet to shoot this gun. I actually bought a MPA Defender, 45acp, (Mac10) from Buds about a year ago. I had been wanted one for a while now. Turns out that Buds beat MPA's own site by more than a $100. Beats me how they manage that, because I received a currant model Mac10 in just about 2 days. You see, I had assumed they were cheaper because I had just figured they were outdated, unsold models, collecting dust in MPA's storeroom. This wasn't the case though, because the serial numbers revealed that my gun, at least, was produced in 2016, (the year of purchase). So how are they able to sell them at that price, I haven't a clue, Ok back to this gun. This was strictly a project gun. I have been refinishing the wood, adding accessory rails,red dot scope, lasers and lights, a folding shockwave stock, magwell grip and Im considering a Quad Rail. When I get arround to shooting it I'll report back

Great AK with .223 but the furniture appears to be crap quality. Everything else was excellent!

I was a little apprehensive about the quality of this item as I have seen poor quality AK platforms in the past - But after reading and researching I decided to try it and found this little gem to be a well made top quality piece of machinery. I found it to be quite accurate for what it is and so far no problems. I will say however that the safety lever was so tight that it required some filing to be able to move it and that you cannot chamber a round if the safety is engaged. Be sure to wear good hearing protection when firing as it is LOUD and you can feel the percussion when fired. I installed the arm brace and a SP sling and It's gonna be a great little truck gun.

Great Pistol,Sent with two mags,both drop out of mag well no problem.No canted front sight.No malfunctions.Great product.

I got this in February . Fast service from Buds. I like it because of the easy cleaning of the ak platform and it recoils less than my regular ak pistol ,uses any ar magazines except the cheap 20 round straight ones. I put the arm brace on it .It eats the cheap ammo with no problems. The only complaint I have is the front sight that is canted way to the right so I had to adjust it way left to shoot properly. I will put a scope on it just like my M92. It weighs about 3 pounds with brace and scope/rail more but put a sling on it and it will be alright. It's pretty accurate at 50 yards using only the regular sights it came with. The convenience , simple and easy cleanup of the ak platform with all the advantages of the 223 caliber rounds is hard to beat.

Just got my Zastava M85NP pistol from the FFL yesterday. Inspected the rifle thoroughly before picking it up and I could not see any issues... no canted sights, no messed up rivets. Everything was up to par and looked great. Went to the range this morning and it performed flawlessly. This is a fun little pistol. Well not too little with a 10.5" barrel it is longer than some other AK pistols but this is the only one you will find in .223 and AR magazine compatible. One thing I did notice was that when I pressed the magazine button the magazine would drop out of the well. This seemed to be one of the only user complaints. Many reviewers complained they had to pull on the mag. Not sure if this was something Zastava addressed or mine just had loose tolerances. But it is nice to have the mag drop out and not need to pull on it. My one complaint: the wood hand guards. I was going to either refinish it anyway for a darker color or get some polymer grips so it is not too big of a deal. But basically it looks like bare wood. Not very attractive but it does the job. If you are thinking about one of these... better buy one quick. Zastava has suspended production of all AR mag models. No word on if production will resume later.

Awesome little bipolar and confused pistol! Magwell adapter works well and drops free with GI aluminum mags. Comes with two Gen3 Magpul PMags, however these hang up in the magwell. I will use the PMags in my AR and GI Mags in this. Trigger sucks but I will put in a Geissele AK trigger.

This AK pistol is beyond great! I ordered mine a few months back and just shot it for the first time yesterday. I didn't know what to expect as far as recoil, but after the first clip...not bad! I put 100+ rounds through it and had NO ISSUES WHATSOEVER..except burning my finger on the barrel ( baby gets H.O.T!!!!) Before going into the range, I had the guys at the counter check out my firearm and I was told to clean it up good or the oil inside will get cooked into the gun aND screw it up..so I cleaned it with some old tshirts and brake cleaner. In the other reviews and as well as this site, it let's you know that you gun will be very oily upon arrival...believe me, nothing short of it either ( shipping purposes ). Overall I'm very very satisfied with my PAP M85 AK PISTOL and would recommend to anyone looking to purchase one!!! Don't think twice..just buy it and you'll be forever grateful! THANKS BGS!

The gun arrived quickly and as described. I took it to the range and ran 140 rounds though it with out a problem. this gun is just a lot of fun.

My M85 came with three mags (two tapco and one Pmag) and one long cleaning rod. These plastics mags work great. Surplus aluminum mags work OK. But the best one probably is the Pmag. Even without any SB-47, the gun was unexpectedly accurate (by my humble standards). At 55-60 yards, I was able to put almost a whole mag on an 8-inch target (though it would shoot a little bit to the left). I actually liked the flip-up-front-sight option. And who knows, I might one day try this gun at 100 yards. M85 is built pretty sloppy (AK family, what would you expect?), but it does its job. I was shooting Federal ammo only: it was good. So I can't tell how it would digest steel case Tula ammo. It'd probably be fine. On extraction, empty casings get bent because they are hitting the dust cover right above the safety lever. But I've heard its fixable. But besides this, the M85 is well built, cool looking machine. I would recommend it.
