  Hi Michael and welcome. The LCP II has better ergonomics, better trigger, better sights and easier racking slide. LCP magazines will work in the LCP II but will not lock the slide back on last shot so stick with the LCP II Magazines on the LCP II. Cheers and stay safe!

  Hi Pedro, The magazine release button for the LCP II is reversible for operation by the thumb or forefinger of either hand, so it is ok for right or left handed shooters. There is no thumb safety, so that won't come into play. The only strictly right handed control is the slide stop. This is not a deal breaker for many, it's individual preference.

• Q: will lcp magazines work with the lcp II ?

  Doug, The LCP 6 round mag will work in an LCPII, but will not allow lockback on the
  last round. The LCP 7 round mag will NOT work in an LCP II... You need a Ruger LCP II 7rd mag for it to work, not an original LCP 7 rounder. Have a great day!

  Lane, no Sir. As long as you use a quality holster or pocket holster that covers the trigger and common sense, you're perfectly safe carrying with one in the chamber.   Eric, no, it does not. There is no magazine disconnect safety so a chambered round can be fired by its lonesome if need be.
