Hi, Cimarron is a distributor and importer, Cimarron Mode P is made by Uberti in Italy. Generally speaking, Cimarron tends to have a better finish than Uberti...but Uberti also has significantly improved since (Cimarron have QC staff at Urberti who pick gun for them). They are the exact same pistol made in the same factory, just different marking, and barrel length. So it really depends on your preference for the barrel length and finishes (both of which are subjective to your taste). I personally like the longer barrel as it looks cooler and feels better when come to recoil. Again, very subjective. I would just get the one that is cheapest of the two as they are the same revolver.

Uberti is part of Beretta. They allow Cimarron and Taylors and Co. to import their firearms. Also some of the companies under Beretta. The 7 1/2" barrel is more historically accurate. Depending on what you are planning for your cowboy gun the barrel length can matter. I am not wanting to get into fast draw competition so I bought the 7 1/2" barrel. For hunting with my Henry lever action. Either revolver would be a great addition to a gun collection. Choose the one that you like the looks of best.

Robert, this is a personal choice. Whichever barrel length suits you better will be the deciding factor. They are of equal quality and the shorter barrel is not necessarily less accurate. The longer barrel will produce higher velocity and power and will extend the effective range of the .45Colt but the inherent accuracy is the same in the shorter barrel and it will just have a shorter effective range.
