The grips are very smooth. This and the overall size of the frame makes this a difficult gun to get used to. If this is your first J frame revolver, do yourself a favor and load it with .38 Special until you have a solid grip figured out.

Smith and Wesson has always been one of my favorite manufacturers of firearms. They develop an array of awesome products with quality in mind. The Pro Series model 60 is no different. It is made with quality parts built for longevity. If this is your first time with a revolver, there is a little more felt recoil and it will be noticeable with this model. Start off with .38 spl rounds if that is the case. If you have smaller hands you will feel most of it around the thumb webbing. It is a fantastic firearm and highly recommended.

This is a beautiful piece of hardware! For 357 magnum you may endure a sore wrist for a few days if you fire a cylinder or two. It's pretty decent with 38 special for kids graduating from 22LR. About 300+ rounds fired with flawless operation.

Buds service and delivery were spot on as usual. The Smith and Wesson model 60 pro was also spot on. The revolver arrived in pristine condition, as should be expected from Smith and Wesson. The action was tight, and lockup, and timing were perfect. The accuracy with Hornady 158 grain XTP JHP reloads was very good at about 2 inches at 20 yards. (5.2 grains of Unique at +P pressure, and book velocity of 761 FPS) It really loves 158 grain hard cast lead semi wadcutters. It cuts one ragged hole at the same distance. (4.5 grains of Unique at book velocity of 871 FPS) I love the shape of the barrel shroud and flat sides of the barrel. The grips are small enough to stay hidden in a strong side holster, but large enough to be comfortable in my oversized gorilla hands. The combination of checkering and stippling on the grip panels helps with hanging on to this little firecracker when you turn the heat up on it. The only thing that I changed on this revolver was the front sight. My 65 plus year old eyes cannot pick up the black front sight anymore, so I installed a Dawson Precision fluorescent front sight on it just like all of my other handguns, and everything is peachy.
