A bit of an ugly duckling but a useful revolver. I had to have it due to the fact it could shoot 3 different cartridges through it. Fit and finish were as expected from S&W. This will be my nightstand choice going forward. Can't beat 6 rounds of Hornady 410 defense rounds.

This was my Christmas present from my wife. I love it. It handles all 3 types of ammo great. I even found some cylinder adapters that give me the versatility to shoot 22lr as well.

Excellent revolver. It is accurate and fun to shoot. Shoots 410, 45 lc and 45 acp without any problems and minimal recoil.

First, I want to thank Buds for offering the military/police discount. Being retired on a fixed income, it is appreciated. I have purchased a half dozen guns from Buds, some on the professional discount program and some not. All of them have been fast and handled in a professional way. I own or have carried (law enforcement and military issue) maybe 25 SW handguns in my life, totaling about 47 years now. I own double action SW revolvers from 22 to 44 mag including several of the pinned barrel models said to be the best revolvers ever made. Now, this gun is huge, I see comments of people who say they use this for CCW. Really? Let's see how long that lasts? I bought it for hiking/camping gun. I have shot it less than 50 rounds but find it to shoots very well at 25 yards with both 45 acp and 45 Colt, I can hit an 18 inch gong every time. I do not know how it will group, but it serves my needs. Recoil is negligible, even with factory Hornady flex tips and my hand loads which throw a 255 grain bullets at 938 fps in this gun, for about 450 foot pounds. To me that is about the same as my snub 357 mag, just a heavier bullet and already expanded to 45 cal, so I will carry it in black bear country. I also shot some Tullamo ball ammo from Walmart, grouped fine but the velocity was pretty low at about 740 fps, which drops the energy to about 300 foot pounds, about like a 9mm or 38+P. I forgot the speed but the Hornady 225 grain bullets lost velocity also and while I love them for my Ruger flat top 45 Colt, I will probably stay with my reloads for carry in the Rockies. The double action trigger pull on this gun is not nearly as good as several other SWs that I own. The single action pull is fine but nearly 6 pounds, but very consistent. I recommend the gun but caution folks it is huge, and I own Model 29s, Ruger Redhawks and Super Blackhawks so I am not being shocked at big ones. Did not get to shoot the 410 shells in it, but looking forward to that. Thanks again to Buds.

My go-to backpack gun. It's surprisingly light for so large a revolver because of the scandium frame. I love that I can shoot 45acp, 45 colt and 410 shells. Talk about versatility. And I really love that it's cut for moon clips for the 45acp. You can reload remarkably fast with moon clips. Recoil is pretty stout with the 410 shells, but not painful. My last trip to the woods saw me shooting about 250 45acp about 50 45 Colt and 25 shotshells. No problems at all. And it holds 6 instead of the Taurus Judge's 5. Also, fit and finish is much better than the Taurus. When you buy S&W, you'll see where your money is going. I had the Circuit Judge for a while (the rifle version of the Judge) and the accuracy was so poor I had to sell it. The Governor shoots quite accurately by comparison.
